Snapchat announced allowing users to engage with more Snapchatters

Snapchat, the popular photo-sharing app, has received a new upgrade. A new feature called Shared Stories has been released, which allows users to invite other Snapchatters into a group to a Shared Stories group to view and contribute to the story. The Snapchat Shared stories is an upgraded feature to Custom Stories that earlier allowed users to create a Story and add friends to view and contribute.

Snapchat has introduced Shared Stories, a new option for users to form communities around the content they enjoy snapping. Shared Stories is a new version of Custom Stories, a Snapchat feature that previously allowed users to create a Story and invite friends to view and participate to it. With the new and enhanced Shared Stories, Snapchatters who have been added to a group may now invite their friends, making it easy for the entire soccer team, camp squad, or group of new coworkers to join.

Snaps sent to Shared Stories, like all Snapchat Stories, expire after 24 hours. However, unlike standard friend Stories and Groups, this feature will not have a chat component in order to keep all talks between friends private.

Content is monitored with care, utilising a combination of automatic language detection and new community review mechanisms that allow Snapchatters to actively participate in making Snaps in Shared Stories safe and enjoyable.

Snapchat users will now be alerted if they join a Shared Story with someone they’ve blocked. This allows Snapchatters to exit a Shared Story and guarantees that they always have complete control over who they share content on the platform.

“With this next generation Story, we’re hoping to help Snapchatters turn shared moments into shared memories. Have Snaps to share? Head to the profile page, tap new story, then select Shared Story to get started,” the company via blog post said.
