Vivo T4 Ultra with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ processor debuts in India

Vivo today introduced its new mid-range smartphone, T4 Ultra, in the Indian market. The latest handset is a successor to the Vivo T3 Ultra. It comes equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ processor. The device features a 6.67-inch OLED display and a 5,500mAh battery. The handset includes a triple camera setup with a new telephoto sensor.

The price of Vivo T3 Ultra in India starts at Rs 37,999 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant. There are two more models: 12GB RAM 256GB storage and 12GB RAM 512GB storage, priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 41,999, respectively. The phone comes in two colours: Meteor Grey and Phoenix Gold.

The device will be available for purchase via Flipkart, the Vivo India e-store, and select offline retail stores in the country.

The Vivo T4 Ultra flaunts a 6.67-inch AMOLED quad curved display with 2800×1260 pixels of resolution. The device supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 2160 PWN, and a touch response rate of 130Hz/300Hz. The panel comes with 8000000:1 display contrast, 1.07 billion colours, 460 ppi and HDR10+ support. It comes with 5,000 nits of local peak brightness.

The Vivo T4 Ultra is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset with a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz, with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1. It runs on Funtouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15.

The Vivo T4 Ultra features a 50MP Sony IMX 921 primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX 882 telephoto lens with OIS and EIS video stabilisation. The camera will include 10x telephoto macro zoom and 10x Super Stage zoom for portrait shooting. The camera app offers High Resolution, Pano, Ultra HD Document, Slo-mo, Time-lapse, Supermoon, Astro, Pro, Snapshot, Food, Night, Portrait, Photo, Video, Live Photo, and Dual View modes. Furthermore, it boasts a 32MP front-facing camera with Night, Portrait, Photo, Video, Live Photo, and Dual View modes.

Google rolls out Android 16: Here is what’s new

Google has released Android 16, the first significant software update since Android 15 in October 2024. The upgrade will be handed out first to Pixel smartphones, per Google’s prior policy of introducing a new operating system and phone portfolio concurrently. The announcement comes one day after Apple unveiled iOS 26 at WWDC25.

The blog post said, “Today, we’re bringing you Android 16, rolling out first to supported Pixel devices with more phone brands to come later this year. This is the earliest Android has launched a major release in the last few years, which ensures you get the latest updates as soon as possible on your devices.”

Android 16 now features real-time live notifications on the lock screen, according to Google’s Material 3 Expressive design language. Ride-sharing and food delivery applications now offer live updates, allowing customers to be informed in real time. This functionality is being pushed out in Samsung’s Now Bar, as well as OPPO and OnePlus’ Live Alert. Furthermore, notifications from a single app are force-grouped to avoid information overload while keeping alerts organised and tight.

Android 16 now supports Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) audio devices, allowing users to utilise them instead of their phone’s microphone for higher call quality. Android 16 includes substantial enhancements for hearing aid users. Current LE devices have built-in front-facing microphones for audio input, but users may now utilise their phone’s microphone to make crisper calls in crowded places. Android 16 also includes native control for hearing devices, allowing users to regulate capacity directly from their Android phone, resulting in a more consistent and user-friendly experience.

Android 16 is equipped with Advanced Protection 2, which is believed to be Google’s most powerful mobile device protection, with extensive security measures against internet threats, malicious applications, hazardous websites, and scam calls. This function is appropriate for both public personalities and people who value security, providing peace of mind against sophisticated attacks.

Samsung DeX and Android have teamed to bring desktop windowing, a new way to engage with apps and content on large-screen devices. This feature lets users to launch, move, and resize multiple app windows on a single screen, similar to a desktop. Desktop windowing in Android 16 will be available for compatible devices later this year. Additionally, configurable keyboard shortcuts and taskbar overflow will be available later this year. Future upgrades will also improve productivity by allowing tablets and phones to connect to external displays for a more complete desktop experience. Developers may start testing these functionalities today.

OnePlus 13s Review: Can this compact powerhouse take on the heavyweights?

The highly anticipated compact smartphone from OnePlus is finally here. While many will argue that a 6.32-inch display is hardly compact, it is what passes for a ‘small phone’ these days. Samsung and Apple’s vanilla models in their flagship series are sized at 6.2 and 6.1 inches, respectively. What works in the OnePlus 13s’ advantage is its price. It sits between the OnePlus 13R (Rs 43,000) and OnePlus 13 (Rs 70,000) with a Rs 55,000 price tag. This makes it comfortably cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S25 (Rs 81,0000) and the iPhone 16 (Rs 80,000). Of course, this means there are some tradeoffs along the way – the most notable ones being the ultrawide shooter and wireless charging. We used the OnePlus 13s for a week to find out how it measures up to other small flagship phones; here is our review of the device.

OnePlus 13s Review: Design and Display

The OnePlus 13s has a flat form factor with rounded edges. The glass panel has a smooth matte texture that lends it a premium in-hand feel. The chassis of the rear camera panel is made of aluminium. The glossy OnePlus branding is embossed in the middle of the back panel. There are 3 colour variants on offer: Black Velvet, Pink Satin, and Green Silk. The last variant is exclusive to India.

One of the biggest highlights of the OnePlus 13s is the new Plus Key. This button replaces the traditional Alert Slider on the left edge of the aluminium frame. This button triggers AI Plus Mind (more on that later) by default, and can be remapped to perform functions like enabling DND, launching the camera, putting your phone on silent, and more. The right edge houses the volume rocker keys and the side button. At the bottom lies the SIM slot, primary microphone, and speaker grille. The secondary speaker and noise-cancellation microphone are positioned at the top.

The 6.32-inch AMOLED display has a 120Hz refresh and can reach up to 1,600 nits in High Brightness Mode. It is surrounded by slim bezels on all sides. The display holds up pretty well in bright outdoor surroundings. The ‘Adaptive tone’ feature in settings adjusts the screen colour temperature based on the ambient lighting conditions. The touch response of the display is smooth, and it registers even the most subtle touches with ease. The optical fingerprint scanner, while not as quick as the ultrasonic sensor on the OnePlus 13, puts up a snappy performance.

OnePlus 13s Review: Design and Display

During the week-long review period, we used the OnePlus 13s as our primary media streaming device. The AMOLED panel produced brilliant visuals packed with superb details and vivid colours. Features like Image Sharpener and Video Colour Boost made the viewing experience all the more enjoyable. The stereo speaker setup produces a well-rounded output, but its intensity leaves more to be desired.

With an IP65 rating onboard, the OnePlus 13s remains unaffected by water splashes and low-pressure water jets. The OnePlus 13 (our review here) is more adept at handling exposure to water with its IP69 rating.

At the heart of the OnePlus 13s lies Qualcomm’s flagship chipset – the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Here’s how the smartphone performed in Geekbench and AnTuTu benchmark tests.

OnePlus 13s comes with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 2 UFS 4.0 storage options:

  • 256GB: Rs 55,000
  • 512GB: Rs 60,000

The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset crushes every task that’s thrown at it. During the week-long review period, we did not encounter a single jitter or lag on the OnePlus 13s. Apps took no time to load, and switching between multiple active apps was a seamless experience. The smartphone did a great job of optimising the background apps and ensuring they do not affect the speed of the ongoing tasks. The haptic motor works wonderfully as well. The vibrational responses were well-tuned and added a nice touch to the experience.

OnePlus doesn’t market its compact offering as a gaming device, but it is equipped with a 4,400mm² 3D Cryo-Velocity vapour chamber that does a good job of keeping the internal temperature in check. Selected gaming titles like BGMI can run in the high frame setting of 120fps. We played Call of Duty Mobile on the smartphone and were pleased with its touch response and detailed graphics. The back panel started to warm up after 30 minutes of gameplay.

OnePlus 13s runs the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 out of the box. There are a handful of bloatware apps on the device, which isn’t a good sight in this price bracket and certainly takes away from the ‘flagship’ experience that OnePlus is trying to sell.

However, the software experience on offer here is sublime. To begin with, the OS feels light and airy. Everything from panel transitions to app minimisation animations has a free-flowing feel to it. OnePlus has also fleshed out its AI package on this device, adding some interesting features to it.

The AI Plus Mind is the highlight of OnePlus AI. It gets triggered when you press the Plus Key on the left edge of the frame. It reads the content on the screen and saves it as a memory in the Mind Space.

The Mind Space extracts key information from these memories and suggests relevant actions. For example, if you captured a WhatsApp conversation about an upcoming meeting, the Mind Space will automatically prompt you to save it in your calendar. If you take a screenshot of a ticket, it will summarise and display the key information (seat number, time of departure, fare, etc.).

Call Assistant is another nifty feature that has been added to the OnePlus AI package. It allows you to translate your phone calls in real time. VoiceScribe can transcribe your recorded phone calls and meetings across third-party apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat, Instagram, and more. The PassScan tool adds your boarding pass to Google Wallet by simply clicking a picture. This feature works completely on-device while others rely on cloud servers.

The 5,850mAh battery pack on the OnePlus 13s is the biggest we’ve seen on a phone of its size. What’s more impressive is that this is not a Si/C unit. The battery life offered by this smartphone easily beats every other compact device out there. We were able to coast through the day without any battery anxiety. A screen time of 4.5 hours left us with more than 50% charge in the tank at the end of the day. With more conservative usage, you can push the battery life to 2 days. The 80W power adapter provided in the box takes just over an hour to fully charge the phone. The lack of wireless charging is a bit of a letdown.

The camera system is where OnePlus has made one of the biggest tradeoffs on this device. The rear camera panel packs a 50MP Sony LYT-700 primary sensor and a 50MP Samsung S5KJN5 telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. The OnePlus 13R (our review here) uses these two sensors as well. However, the OnePlus 13s lacks an ultrawide shooter in its camera array.

The 50MP primary shooter takes great images in outdoor daylight conditions. The images are sharp and pack a lot of detail. The vivid colours showcased by the images make them ‘pop’. We were quite happy with the dynamic range as well. In limited lighting conditions, the smartphone does a good job of processing the images and brightening the subject. It also clears the noise with ease. While the images are heavily processed, they do not seem artificial.

The 50MP telephoto lens can optically zoom up to 2x. Most primary shooters produce decent results with a 2x digital zoom, so the choice of placing a 2x telephoto in a product that you’re calling a flagship offering is a bit of an odd choice from OnePlus. Regardless, this lens takes good images and retains the colour profile of the main shooter.

In portrait mode, the camera app defaults to the telephoto lens, offering no option to switch to 1x zoom. This felt like a weird quirk, one we hope gets fixed in a future upgrade. The portrait shots are lively and well-focused. The smartphone does a great job of separating the subject from the background and adding a tasteful background blur.

The 32MP front-facing camera takes good selfies while keeping the skin tone and texture correction effects to a minimum. This camera is also capable of autofocusing on the subject. It can record 4K, 1,080p, and 720p videos at 30fps. Meanwhile, the two rear sensors can shoot 4K and 1,080p videos at 30 and 60fps. The 720p recording chops of these cameras are limited to 30fps.

Verdict

There aren’t many smartphones in the sub-Rs 60,000 price bracket that can replicate the performance of the OnePlus 13s. The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset at the heart of this device goes through demanding, power-intensive tasks like a hot knife through butter. The 6.32-inch display, while not ‘compact’ in the strictest definition of the term, is a treat to use. A 2-day battery life on a phone of this size is something we could not have imagined a few years ago.

On the software front, the OnePlus AI package grabs all the attention with its cutting-edge and accessible features. These features are neatly woven into the software, making them easy to incorporate into the daily routine. The lack of an ultrawide lens takes away from the ‘flagship’ experience that OnePlus is trying to curate on this device, but it is certainly not a dealbreaker.

What’s new on iOS 26?

The Liquid Glass design language is another motif that brings all Apple devices together. It seeks to focus on the content by bringing translucency to navigation, app icons, controls, widgets and other elements. Overall, the gadget responds quickly and can handle any work you put it through, even multitasking and the most draining games and applications. The phone performs wonderfully, with no delays or stutters in the animations.

Additionally, the gaming performance of the Galaxy S25 Edge is just amazing. Without any lag, even the most taxing games may be played at their highest settings. Call of Duty Mobile and Asphalt Legends were among the titles we played. Most importantly, it cools off a lot faster. And given the form factor, that’s not bad at all. Overall, Samsung appears to have done a respectable job of keeping it cool with the optimised vapour chamber, the extra graphite sheet, and the use of a proprietary cooling material. All of it in a super slim form factor.

The typical triple-camera layout used in recent years has been replaced by a dual-camera system on the Galaxy S25 Edge. The gadget has three cameras: a 12-megapixel ultrawide, a 12-megapixel selfie, and a 200-megapixel main. Notably, it lacks a telephoto lens, but it does include a 10X AI-enhanced zoom and a 2X optical zoom. The only plausible reason for this is that it would have resulted in a thicker phone, which would have gone against Samsung’s intended design.

A broader field of vision for selfies, autofocus, and macro mode for close-ups are all characteristics of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. It has a 200-megapixel primary camera that is essentially identical to the S25 Ultra.

All of this is made possible by the Pro Visual Engine, which is diligently working in the background to achieve a true balance between the colours, exposure, and white balance.

That could even be pleasant to some of you. Saying that, there are no issues with backdrop blur or edge detection.

S25 Edge’s exceptional ability to retain shadow and highlight details allows it to produce high-quality photographs in low light. Clear, beautifully detailed, and noise-free images are captured indoors. Additionally, we rarely use flash unless it is absolutely required in specific situations. In low light, the ultra-wide camera produced detailed photos.

Speaking of selfies, our skin’s hue and image quality were maintained by the S25 Edge. Here, a broader field of view is also an option. For taking selfies in low light, it has a night mode.

It can also record videos in 4K at 120 frames per second, which is not possible with the S25+ or S25. Additionally, it can shoot in log format for more editing flexibility. Furthermore, the selfie camera allows for more people because of its larger field of view. Because it offers superb video stabilisation, this is definitely one of the finest options available if you enjoy vlogging.

The slim Samsung S25 Edge phone has a 3,900 mAh battery, which is 100 mAh less than the smaller Galaxy S25. Considering other phones of the same size, this is a small battery capacity. The silicon-carbon battery technology, which provides denser battery cells in a smaller form, is not used by Samsung at the moment. All in all, we were able to squeeze just about 20 hours of battery life from this smartphone, which included calls, a little bit of gaming, social media browsing and WhatsApp exchanges.

Live Translation is a tool that removes language barriers by allowing users to converse across languages via message or speech. It is embedded into Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, and is supported by Apple-designed models that operate wholly on smartphones. Messages’ Live Translation immediately translates messages, allowing users to establish arrangements with new acquaintances when travelling overseas. Users using FaceTime conversations may follow along with translated live subtitles while still hearing the speaker’s voice. During phone conversations, the translation is spoken aloud.

Genmoji and Image Playground

The Genmoji and Image Playground apps have been upgraded to provide users with more creative expression choices. Users may now convert text descriptions into Genmojis and combine them with emojis to create unique visuals. It gives information on significant events and upgrades across all games, and it is the greatest way to experience Apple Arcade, Apple’s gaming subscription service that includes over 200 award-winning and highly rated games for the entire family.

AirPods 4 and Pro 2 now support studio-quality audio recording, voice isolation, and ANC on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The camera remote lets users capture images or start and stop video recordings on their iPhone or iPad by touching and holding the AirPod stem. This increases the adaptability of the AirPods technology.

Parents may now establish or move kids to Child Accounts with improved controls to guarantee their safety. These safeguards include communication restrictions, communication safety, and the App Store. Parents may authorise contact requests, obscure sensitive information in FaceTime talks and photographs, and make exceptions for installing applications with age ratings that exceed their specified content limitations.

Apple has taken the wraps off the macOS Tahoe 26 at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2025. The new nomenclature brings uniformity across all Apple devices. macOS Tahoe 26 incorporates the company’s new ‘Liquid Glass’ design language and adds new Continuity and Apple Intelligence features, along with other updates.

What’s new on macOS Tahoe 26?

Apple’s new ‘Liquid Glass’ design language brings a layered aesthetic to macOS Tahoe 26. Its translucent effect makes it reflect and refract its surroundings. This design language can be seen in the Dock, sidebars, toolbars, app icons, folders, widgets and more elements. The menu bar is completely transparent and can be further customised from the Control Center. Users can also change the colours of the folders and assign them emojis to make them stand out.

What’s new on macOS Tahoe 26?

The Continuity features on macOS 26 get a big upgrade. The OS marks the debut of the Phone app on the platform. It will relay the calls from the user’s iPhone to their Mac. It’ll also allow the user to go through their contacts, recent calls, and voicemails. New iOS 26 features like Call Screening and Hold Assist will also be present on the Phone app for macOS 26. Live Activities will now appear on the menu. Once an activity is selected, it’ll open in iPhone Mirroring.

Spotlight gets its biggest update to date on macOS 26. When a search query is entered, Spotlight intelligently ranks all results, including files, folders, events, apps, messages, and more, based on their relevance to the user. There are filtering options to narrow down the search. Spotlight can also look into the user’s third-party cloud drives. Additionally, users can take in-app actions directly from Spotlight. This includes native and third-party apps. Lastly, Spotlight can recognise shortened strings, which saves the hassle of typing an entire keyword. For example, instead of typing ‘add reminder’, users can simply enter ‘ar’.

What’s new on macOS Tahoe 26?

Apple Intelligence gets a boost in macOS 26. The Shorcuts app can access AI features like Writing Tools and Image Playground. Live Translation is now supported by Messages and FaceTime. Users can also customise the personal attributes in Genmoji and Image Playground. Reminders are intelligently categorised into sections to make them more manageable.

What’s new on watchOS 26?

The new ‘Liquid Glass’ design language brings a new look to the watchOS 26. Its translucent material reflects and refracts its surroundings, giving the content more room on the screen. It is integrated into Smart Stack widgets, Smart Stack hints, notifications, Control Center, and in-app controls and navigation. The numerals in the Photos watch face will showcase the translucent design as well.

What’s new on watchOS 26?

The Workout app on watchOS 26 has been updated with Workout Buddy – an Apple Intelligence feature that analyses the user’s workout data and fitness history to generate motivational insights tailored to their workout session. It also keeps track of the workout metrics and reminds the user of key stats and milestones. The stats are recapped at the end of the session. Workout Buddy requires an Apple Intelligence-supported iPhone nearby. It will be available in popular workout types like Outdoor and Indoor Run, Outdoor and Indoor Walk, Outdoor Cycle, HIIT, and Functional and Traditional Strength Training.

The layout of the Workout app has been tweaked to make its features more accessible. Users can now access custom workouts and set up Apple Music on the main page of the app. Based on the workout type, Apple Music can select the relevant playlist. It also recommends playlists and podcasts based on the user’s listening history in that workout type.

The Smart Stack helps users access key information directly on the watch face. It now incorporates the Liquid Glass design. Apple has also improved its prediction algorithms by incorporating more contextual data, sensor data, and data from a user’s routine. This makes the Smart Stacks hints more useful and relevant to the user’s current status.

In line with iOS 26, the watchOS 26 gets Live Translation in the Messages app. This feature requires an Apple Intelligence-supported iPhone. The incoming texts are automatically translated into the user’s preferred language. The texts sent by the user are also translated for the receiver. Live Translation will be made available on Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

watchOS 26 makes notifications easier to manage. If the user is tied up in other tasks, they can simply flick their wrist to dismiss any incoming notification. It can also be used to dismiss incoming calls and silence timers and alarms. The wrist movement is analysed by a machine learning model using the data from the accelerometer and the gyroscope.

Final Thoughts

Other additions to the watchOS include the Notes app, Live Listen (for users with hearing disabilities), Hold Assist and Call Screening, and a redesigned watch face gallery.
