iQOO Z10x 5G Review: Is this the no-brainer choice in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment?

iQOO’s midrange and flagship offerings cater to gamers and users who value high benchmarks. However, its budget offerings appeal to a broader audience of casual users. The newly launched iQOO Z10x gives as much importance to aesthetics as it does to performance. On paper, it boasts some eye-catching specs. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, runs the Funtouch 15 OS out of the box, packs a massive 6,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging, and is compliant with MIL-STD-810H durability standards. We took the smartphone for a spin to test how these specs translate into real-world performance. Here is our review of the iQOO Z10x 5G. Read Also: Top 10 smartphones under Rs 10,000 (May 2025)

iQOO Z10x 5G Review: Design and Display

Here’s what you get inside the iQOO Z10x 5G’s retail box:
  • Smartphone
  • 44W power adapter
  • USB Type-A to Type-C cable
  • Clear plastic cover
  • SIM ejector
  • Quick start guide
  • Warranty card
The iQOO Z10x looks nothing like last year’s Z9x (our review here). The new back panel feels more like glass, even though it is made out of plastic. Its edges slightly curve towards the plastic frame, giving the smartphone a nice grip. The rectangular camera panel now houses a Dynamic Light as well. It springs into action when you receive an incoming call or notification. It can even sync with the music playing on your phone. The light turns red when your phone hits a low battery level. The breathing animation indicates that the phone is currently charging. iQOO Z10x 5G Review: Design and Display The plastic frame houses the volume rocker keys and the side button on its right edge. The side button also functions as a fingerprint scanner. The SIM tray lies on the left side of the frame. The microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker are positioned at the bottom. The earpiece acts as the secondary speaker. The smartphone has an IR blaster too, but it is placed in the camera panel instead of its more conventional position at the top of the frame. design The iQOO Z10x pays special attention to toughness and durability. The smartphone is compliant with MIL-STD-810H standards. While we didn’t conduct a drop test, we can confidently say that the smartphone can absorb light knocks and drops from the pocket with ease. Its IP64 protection safeguards it against water splashes. display The 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel has a 120Hz refresh rate. It can reach 1,050 nits in High Brightness Mode. In bright outdoor conditions, the display struggles to overcome the intensity of direct sunlight. On the bright side, its touch response is very smooth. There is no in-display fingerprint scanner to be found here, but the side-mounted fingerprint reader is quick and snappy. The bezels around the display get thicker in the chin area. iQOO Z10x 5G Review: Design and Display During the review period, we used the iQOO Z10x 5G as our primary media streaming device. The LCD panel produces rich and vibrant visuals, but it lacks the depth of an AMOLED display. Having said that, the viewing experience is quite good, considering the brightness and size of the display. The earpiece acts as a secondary speaker and bumps the audio output. The sound is slightly boxy, but that’s something to be expected from a device in this price bracket.

iQOO Z10x 5G Review: Performance and Cameras

The iQOO Z10x is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. This is a very respectable processor in this price bracket. The smartphone is available in 3 RAM (LPDDR4X) + Storage (UFS 3.1) variants.
  • 6GB + 128GB: Rs 13,499
  • 8GB + 128GB: Rs 14,999
  • 8GB + 256GB: Rs 16,499
geekbench On the Geekbench 6 app, the iQOO Z10x scored 990 points in the single-core test and 2,608 points in the multi-core test. In the week-long review period, we were satisfied with the smartphone’s everyday performance. It expertly handled routine tasks like calling, messaging, web browsing, navigation, and media streaming. Multi-tasking different apps did not prove to be a hassle either. The apps take slightly longer to load, but that’s the case with every budget smartphone. iQOO Z10x 5G Review: Performance and Cameras We played Call of Duty Mobile and Asphalt Legends Unite on the Z10x and were satisfied with how it handled the two games. The gaming experience is enjoyable when you limit the frame rate to 60fps and set the graphics to the medium setting. The gameplay is smooth for the most part, and there are no jitters to be seen. It took 20 minutes of consistent gameplay for the back panel to start warming up. iQOO Z10x 5G Review: Performance and Cameras iQOO Z10x runs the Android 15-based Funtouch 15 OS out of the box. iQOO has promised 2 major OS upgrades and 3 years of security patches for this device. There is some bloatware on this device, including the ‘Games’ and ‘Apps’ folders that serve as ads for the V-Appstore. The good thing about Funtouch 15 OS is that it’s light and well-optimised. There are plenty of customisation options for the lockscreen, icons, Always on Display, and home page. On top of that, the Z10x packs AI features like AI Erase, AI Translation, AI Photo Enhance, AI Documents, and Circle to Search. The massive 6,500mAh battery pack puts up a good display. During the review period, our daily tasks on the iQOO Z10x included video calling, emailing, gaming, social media browsing, and media streaming. An average day ended with ~30% charge left in the tank. With more moderate usage, you can push the device’s battery life to almost 2 days. The 44W power adapter provided in the box takes almost 90 minutes to fully charge the smartphone. camera Moving on, the iQOO Z10x’s rear camera panel packs a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The 8MP selfie camera is housed in a punch-hole cutout on the display. The rear camera can record 4K videos at 30fps. Meanwhile, the selfie camera can shoot 1,080p videos at 30fps. camera camera In a bright outdoor setting, the 50MP primary shooter takes good pictures. The images showcase vibrant colours and optimum sharpness. The dynamic range is good, too. The images get visibly softer in limited lighting conditions. In pitch-dark conditions, the Night Mode does little to brighten the subject and remove the noise. This performance is on par with other devices in the segment.

portraits
Portrait shots: 1x v 2x
The Z10x takes decent portrait shots. It does a good job of focusing on the subject, but the background blur leaves more to be desired. The 8MP front-facing camera takes good selfies. The images do not look overprocessed, even though the smartphone applies a subtle skin-smoothing effect. The skin tone is captured and processed really well. Verdict

The iQOO Z10x 5G is one of the most reliable smartphones you can get under Rs 15,000. It looks and feels like a premium device and backs up its aesthetic with an impressive performance. The Dimensity 7300 SoC is one of the most versatile midrange processors we’ve seen in a while, and it lives up to its reputation on the Z10x. The 6,500mAh battery pack is as vital to the phone’s performance as its processor. It puts the user’s battery anxiety at ease by lasting more than a day on conservative usage. The only thing that is a bit of a letdown on this smartphone is the lack of a microSD slot.

iQOO Z10x 5G: Pros

  • Big display
  • Good processor
  • Decent primary camera
  • Great battery life

iQOO Z10x 5G: Cons

Which network provider in India has the cheapest data plans?

0
Ever since Reliance Jio disrupted the mobile data market, unlimited data plans have garnered a lot of popularity. Every major network provider in India offers a daily data plan to meet the rising internet demands of the consumer. On top of that, certain operators offer attractive OTT subscriptions as add-ons to their data plans. Let’s take a look at the cheapest data plans across all network providers in India. Read Also: How to clear the cache of all apps at once

Which mobile operator has the cheapest data plans?

internet BSNL, being a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), offers the most economical data and mobile internet plans out of all the major network providers in India. Its data packs undercut the prices of corresponding plans offered by Jio, Airtel, and Vi, by a wide margin. However, there is a catch to the attractive prices. BSNL does not offer its services in every region in the country. Most famously, it is absent from Delhi altogether. BSNL users travelling to Delhi rely on Vi’s network infrastructure for roaming services. Out of the three major network providers (Jio, Airtel, and Vi), the prices offered by Jio and Airtel are pretty evenly matched. Vi slightly undercuts the two biggest mobile network operators, but it trails behind in add-ons. If you’re interested in getting the most out of your data package, we recommend going through the additional benefits that it offers. Most network providers have dedicated OTT packages which offer Netflix, Prime Video, or JioHotstar subscriptions on top of daily mobile data.

How to clear the cache of all apps at once

0
The cached memory on your phone is the hub for frequently used files and data that need to be easily accessible to apps. The instant access to these files makes apps run faster. Instead of requesting the server, the apps can reach into the cache and use the necessary files. As you can guess, the cached memory builds up over time. If you want to free up some much-needed space on your phone, here’s how you can clear the cache of all apps at once. Read Also: Top 10 smartphones under Rs 15,000 (May 2025)

Infinix Note 50s Review: This budget smartphone can do it all!

At first glance, it is easy to mistake Infinix’s new budget offering for an upper-midrange smartphone. Its sleek profile, smooth back panel, and curved AMOLED display exude a feel that is not commonly found in the sub-Rs 20,000 price segment. This makes its Rs 16,000 price tag very impressive. Last month, we reviewed its younger sibling, Infinix Note 50x, and found it to be a complete package under Rs 15,000. Now, we turn our attention to the Note 50s. Here is our in-depth review of the Infinix Note 50s after using it for a week. Read Also: ASUS ExpertBook P Series powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI PRO 7 processors, announced

Infinix Note 50s Review: Design and Display

Here’s what you get inside the Infinix Note 50s’ retail box:
  • Smartphone
  • 45W power adapter
  • USB Type-A to Type-C cable
  • Opaque silicone cover
  • SIM ejector
  • User manual
  • Warranty card
  • Information booklet
The Infinix Note 50s comes in 3 back panel variants – Marine Drift Blue (Vegan leather finish), Burgundy Red (Metallic finish), and Titanium Grey (Metallic finish). The vegan leather variant uses scent microencapsulation technology to release a fragrance. This fragrance lasts up to 6 months, according to Infinix. For this review, we used the Titanium Grey unit. Infinix Note 50s Review: Design and Display The Note 50s’ build quality and finish are vastly superior to any other smartphone in its category. While the back panel is made out of plastic, its metallic finish and matte texture lend it an amazing in-hand feel. It smoothly curves into the frame, providing a nice grip. The camera panel looks identical to the one on the Infinix Note 50x. design The curved plastic frame houses the volume rocker keys and the side button on its right edge. The flat bottom edge houses the SIM tray, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and primary speaker grille. Up top lie the secondary speaker and noise-cancelling microphone. There is an IR blaster on this phone, but it is positioned in the camera panel. The SIM tray, much to our disappointment, does not incorporate a slot for a microSD card. Infinix Note 50s Review: Design and Display Moving on, the 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display has a stellar 144Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. The catch is that the 144Hz refresh rate is limited to the Settings, Phone, and Messages apps only. Even the regular interface works at a maximum frame rate of 120fps. Having said that, the touch response of the display is very smooth, and the browsing experience is very satisfying. The smartphone does a good job of reducing accidental touches along the curved edges of the display. There is a dedicated ‘Edge Mistouch Prevention’ feature that lets you decide the size of the area where you want to prevent accidental touches. display The curved AMOLED display rises to the occasion while streaming movies and TV shows across OTT apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and JioHotstar. While the curved edges do reflect some surrounding light, it does not affect the viewing angles in a major way. The deep, rich, and punchy visuals produced by the display lead to a very pleasant experience. The Infinix Note 50s also boasts a dual speaker setup tuned by JBL, but the audio output does not reach an acceptable level of loudness. design When it comes to protection against dust particles and water splashes, the Infinix Note 50s is rated IP64. The smartphone is compliant with MIL-STD-810H standards, too. While we didn’t perform a drop test, the smartphone can easily absorb a fall from the pocket to table top.

Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras

The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate SoC lies at the heart of the Infinix Note 50s. The smartphone packs 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and is available in 2 storage variants:
  • 128GB: Rs 15,999
  • 256GB: Rs 17,999
geekbench On the Geekbench 6 app, the Note 50s scored 950 points in the single-core test and 2,853 points in the multi-core test. These numbers translate nicely into everyday use, as the smartphone does a great job of handling routine tasks like video calling, instant messaging, emailing, web browsing, media streaming, and navigation. Apps take minimal time to load, and multitasking is a breeze. apps With the graphics set to the lowest setting, the Note 50s is able to run games like Call of Duty Mobile and Asphalt Legends Unite at 120fps. The gameplay is smooth and lag-free. However, when the graphics are shifted to the maximum settings, some lag and jitters creep into the gameplay. For a budget smartphone, the Note 50s does a good job of managing the thermals while gaming. The back panel warmed up slightly after 20 minutes of consistent gaming. Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras The Infinix Note 50s runs the Android 15-based XOS 15 out of the box. There are a lot of bloatware apps on the device. We recommend taking some time while setting up the device and getting rid of the apps you don’t need. Infinix has promised 2 major OS upgrades for this smartphone, which is on par with the competition in this price bracket.
dynamic bar
Dynamic Bar
XOS 15 takes design inspiration from Apple’s iOS and Xiaomi’s HyperOS. The clever animation around the punch-hole cutout on the display gives it the appearance of the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. Infinix calls its variation the ‘Dynamic Bar’. This pill-shaped bar displays alerts and notifications for calls, recorder, charging, stopwatch, and more. If you’re using Google Maps for navigation, the Dynamic Bar displays turn notifications when the app is minimised.
Folax Assistant
Folax Assistant
AI features are slowly trickling down to budget phones, but we’re yet to see a major manufacturer equip its affordable offerings with state-of-the-art intelligent features. Infinix has taken a step in the right direction by integrating its full AI suite on the Note 50s. Its in-house Folax Assistant does a great job of answering queries while at the same time carrying out basic tasks like launching apps, calling contacts, starting a timer, and more. It is surprisingly good at speech input but takes slightly longer than its counterparts to process the request.
folax
Folax app
The AI eraser tool in the native photo editor does a good job of removing small objects from images. It takes a fair bit of time to do this, but it is nice to see a budget smartphone offer this feature. The native voice recorder can transcribe and summarise voice notes with ease. You can feed text documents to Folax and have it extract key information from them. If you’re composing an email, the Writing Assistant can help you word it better. There are a couple of real-time call translation tools onboard as well, but they need to be further tuned and worked upon before they can function as intended. Despite having a sleek form factor, the Note 50s manages to pack a 5,500mAh battery. On a full charge, the smartphone can easily last a day of regular use. During the review period, our daily tasks on the Infinix Note 50s consisted of video calling, emailing, social media browsing, media streaming, photography, and gaming. We got good mileage out of the battery, ending each day with ~20% charge left in the tank. The smartphone supports 45W wired charging and takes over an hour to reach a 100% charge. Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras The rear camera panel of the Note 50s houses a 64MP primary shooter, a 2MP depth sensor, an IR blaster, an LED flash, and a Halo light. The Halo light activates while shooting videos, triggering the voice assistant, charging the device, launching a game, and other activities. Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras The 64MP primary shooter takes good pictures in outdoor daylight conditions. The images showcase vibrant colours and good dynamic range. What we like about this smartphone is that it does not overprocess the images to make them more ‘social media ready’. The final results are natural-looking, and the camera does justice to the scene. In limited lighting conditions, the ‘Super Night’ mode in the native camera app does a good job of eliminating the noise and brightening the subject without overexposing it.

Portrait Shots: 1x v 2x
Portrait shots taken with the Note 50s are focused and vibrant. The portraits have a great background effect, but the smartphone sometimes struggles with edge detection. There are 2 zoom levels onboard: 1x and 2x. The front-facing 13MP camera takes clear selfies while applying subtle tone and texture correction effects. The front and rear cameras can record 4K videos at 30fps. Read Also: COMPUTEX 2025: Acer unveils new Nitro and Predator series monitors

Verdict

The Infinix Note 50s ticks a lot of boxes for us. Its sleek form factor and durable build quality alone put it in the upper echelon of budget smartphones. The smooth AMOLED display coupled with a well-optimised software makes the smartphone ideal for everyday use. The expansive AI suite is the cherry on top. As far as cameras go, the Note 50s may lack an ultrawide sensor, but its primary shooter delivers whenever it is called upon, irrespective of the lighting condition. At Rs 15,999, the Note 50s is a very easy recommendation from us.

  • Metallic finish
  • Curved display
  • Good gaming performance
  • Good main camera
  • AI features

Infinix Note 50s: Cons
