Oppo’s decision to not skimp on accessories when most major brands are keen on minimalising the unboxing experience is something we appreciate a lot.The design of the Oppo Find X8 Pro is very ‘camera forward’. The large round cutout for the quad camera setup is the centrepiece of the back panel. In many ways, Oppo is trying to emulate the aesthetic of the digital cameras of the yesteryears. The round cutout looks like a giant lens from a distance. The ridged outer ring around this cutout is a nice touch. A solitary LED flash lies outside of the camera cutout, aligned to the top-right corner of the panel.The glass back panel has a matte finish which elevates the in-hand feel of the device. The quality of materials used here is very premium. We didn’t feel like using this device with a case solely due to its in-hand feel. The rubberized texture of the aluminium frame complements the back panel very nicely. While the edges of the smartphone are flat, the back panel curves into them ever so slightly.The bottom edge of the aluminium frame houses the SIM tray, microphone array, USB Type-C slot, and speaker grille. The alert slider makes its way to the left edge while the secondary microphone and the IR blaster find their way up top. The volume rocker keys and the side button are positioned on the right edge. At the bottom of this edge, lies the new ‘Quick Button’ which is inspired by the Camera Control button from the new iPhone 16 series. This isn’t an actual physical button, per se, but rather a touch-sensitive strip that relies on the feedback from the haptic motor to simulate the ‘press’. Double pressing this button triggers the camera and sliding your finger on it adjusts the zoom.The 6.78-inch curved LTPO AMOLED display on the Find X8 Pro is an absolute delight. It can reach 1,600 nits in High Brightness Mode and remains perfectly legible under direct sunlight. While playing HDR content, this display can hit a staggering 4,500 nits of peak brightness. There’s support for a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes the touch response super smooth. Despite being slightly curved towards the edges, the display does not register any accidental touches. The under-display optical fingerprint scanner is quite snappy but pales in comparison to the ultrasonic units we’ve seen in this price range.During the review period, we played several titles across OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar on the Oppo Find X8 Pro. The display produced vivid, contrasty images which packed a lot of detail and showcased the glorious deep blacks. The stereo speaker setup was loud enough to overpower the surrounding noise without letting any distortion creep into the mix. Overall, the media-streaming experience on this smartphone is rock solid and leaves no room for complaints.
Oppo Find X8 Pro Review: Performance and Cameras
MediaTek’s flagship chipset for 2025, Dimensity 9400, lies at the heart of the Oppo Find X8 Pro. This 3nm chipset will feature in a lot of flagship smartphones next year, so keep an eye out for our reviews. The Find X8 Pro delivered solid numbers on the Geekbench 6 app, scoring 2,803 points in the single-core test and 8,460 points in the multi-core test.A lot of folks are apprehensive about Dimensity 9400’s performance in comparison to its direct rival Snapdragon 8 Elite. After using the Find X8 Pro for a week, we can attest that this 3nm chipset is a powerhouse. Oppo’s flagship smartphone crushes any task you throw at it. The 16GB LPPDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage ensure you stay on top of things at all times. We loaded a dozen apps on the device and it did not break a sweat. The app load time is fractional and switching between multiple tasks is not a hassle at all. Routine tasks like media streaming, web browsing, video calling, and instant messaging present no lags at all. Even demanding tasks like video editing were handled expertly by the device.While Oppo doesn’t market the Find X8 Pro as a gaming smartphone, we still expect a good gaming experience from a device that costs Rs 1 lakh. To test its gaming performance, we played titles like Call of Duty Mobile and BGMI on the smartphone. Even with the graphics set to their maximum setting, the Find X8 Pro did not interrupt the gameplay with any lag or hiccup. The vapour chamber inside the device keeps its temperature in check. After 40 minutes of intense gaming, we could barely feel any warmth on the back panel.The Oppo Find X8 Pro runs Android 15 skinned with ColorOS 15 out of the box. Right off the bat, there is some bloatware to be found on the device, which is never a good look at this price point. Once you get past that, the ColorOS 15 does nothing but impress. Its vibrant aesthetic along with eye-catching animations and a diverse range of customisation options make for a tremendous software experience.Some elements of Oppo’s Android skin have been highly influenced by Apple’s iOS. The Quick Settings menu on the Find X8 Pro looks similar to the iPhone’s Control Centre, as do the default wallpapers and lock screen widgets. Even the depth effect for the lock screen clock is directly lifted from the iPhone. But the similarities don’t just end there. The punch hole cutout on the display produces Dynamic Island-style popup animations for music playback, live alerts, and system functions like low battery and more. But, to Oppo’s credit, these animations are tasteful and do not feel like a cheap knockoff.If these similarities aren’t enough to sway a loyal iPhone user, the Oppo Find X8 Pro also has a ‘Share with iPhone’ feature that makes file sharing easy with your iPhone buddies. In terms of software support, however, the Find X8 Pro trails behind the segment leaders in Samsung and Google, promising 5 major OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches.The battery performance is where Oppo steers ahead of its competition in this segment. The Find X8 Pro packs a massive 5,910mAh silicon-carbon battery unit under its hood. We pushed the Oppo Find X8 Pro to its boundaries during the review period and never once felt betrayed by the battery. Even with heavy usage, the smartphone has the mileage to last an entire day with ease. On moderate use, we were left with a 30% spare charge at the end of the day. The 80W SuperVOOC charge provided in the box replenishes the battery to 100% in less than an hour. There’s support for 50W wireless charging as well.Moving on to Oppo’s bread and butter, let’s talk about the camera performance of the Find X8 Pro. Here is a breakdown of the smartphone’s rear quad camera setup.
All cameras bar the ultrawide unit are equipped with Optical Image Stabilisation.We spent a lot of time with the Find X8 Pro’s camera and were blown away by its performance. The primary shooter takes stupendous images in outdoor daylight conditions, packing rich colours, superb dynamic range, and a tremendous level of detail. The resulting images are very close to life. We were very impressed with how the sensor exposed the sky at different stages of the day. Even in harsh midday lighting, the camera ascribed rich colours to the sky and did not let the light intensity blow out the colour of the subject we were shooting.The ultrawide camera replicates the performance of the primary shooting without any shift in the colour profile. Very rarely do we see an ultrawide lens do this, but it is the case here. It even managed to preserve the sharpness of the shadows and rendered them in beautiful detail. You can use the primary shooter and ultrawide lens interchangeably on this smartphone and that is perhaps the highest compliment we can bestow upon it.Ultrawide LensUltrawide LensThe two periscope telephoto lenses make the case for the Oppo Find X8 Pro being the best camera smartphone around. The 3x and 6x optical zoom lenses take amazing pictures with rich, vivid colours and a good level of detail. Once you move past the 6x optical zoom limit, the colour shift becomes more apparent. An egregious 60x zoom also yields decent results, but it is quite clear that there’s AI processes helping the smartphone in the background. You can hit a maximum zoom of 120x on this smartphone. We used it to zoom into very distant billboards and were surprised with its text resolution.Primary Shooter: 1x v 2xTelephoto Lens: 3x v 6xZooming up to 60xIn limited lighting conditions, the primary shooter puts up an amazing display. It does a great job of brightening the subject, removing the noise, and ascribing life-like colours to the background. The final results were very close to the scene in front of us. The smart app is not the company’s own, but a third-party app called ‘Smart Life’ that is developed in Hong Kong. Overall, it is a good app that does the job well. From scheduling cleanups to setting no-go zones, the app ensures you’re in control—even when you’re not home. Voice control with Alexa and Google Assistant feature is also available in case you have these smart devices at home.
Equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, this robo-vac boasts up to five hours of uninterrupted cleaning in Quiet mode. Again, that is claimed by the company. We got just under 4 hours from it at medium levels of suction. You can get more if you drop the suction level to a bare minimum. However, when it needs a juice boost, it heads back to the docking station. The only drawback, during power outages, it may lose its way, turning into a confused wanderer.

From dealing with monsoon mud to pet fur, the Smart Clean is tailored for Indian households. Its HEPA filtration ensures allergens are trapped, making it perfect for families with allergy sufferers. In a bold move to curb China’s technological advancements, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced on Monday a fresh set of export controls targeting China’s semiconductor industry. These measures are designed to restrict China’s ability to produce advanced chips crucial for artificial intelligence (AI), military modernization, and next-generation weaponry.
The updated regulations cast a wide net, introducing stringent controls on 24 types of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including essential tools like etching, deposition, lithography, and inspection machines. Additionally, advanced software used in developing or producing cutting-edge semiconductors is now under the microscope. High-bandwidth memory (HBM), a critical component for AI and advanced computing, will also require U.S. government authorization before being exported to China.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo described the rules as “groundbreaking and sweeping,” emphasizing the administration’s intent to “impair China’s ability to indigenize production” of technologies that pose national security risks. The BIS highlighted that these actions are proactive measures to impede China’s military modernization efforts.
Closing Loopholes and Expanding Reach
The new rules also address potential workarounds previously exploited by Chinese entities. The BIS added 140 entities to the Entity List and modified 14 others, targeting Chinese semiconductor fabs, tool manufacturers, and investment firms that support China’s military goals. Notably, the regulations introduce two new Foreign Direct Product (FDP) rules:
SME FDP Rule: Extends U.S. jurisdiction over foreign-produced semiconductor equipment destined for Macau or countries in Group D:5, which includes China.
Footnote 5 FDP Rule: Covers foreign-produced items involving entities on the Entity List that support China’s military modernization.
Moreover, the De Minimis Rule now applies to items containing any amount of U.S.-origin technology, tightening the noose further on China’s semiconductor supply chain.

It will take some time for anyone accustomed to typing on laptops to get comfortable using this keyboard because it lacks flat keys. Nevertheless, typing on this brought back fond memories of our early days of learning to use a typewriter. Redragon Magicwand SE has a travel distance of about 2 ms and requires an actuation force of 40 ms for a keypress. Additionally, the keyboard has a very low response time. Although three-pin switches have been used, it also supports five-pin switches, which is an additional benefit. The keys are also easily configurable. To disable this feature, hit the backspace key. The design of the Oppo Find X8 Pro is very ‘camera forward’. The large round cutout for the quad camera setup is the centrepiece of the back panel. In many ways, Oppo is trying to emulate the aesthetic of the digital cameras of the yesteryears. The round cutout looks like a giant lens from a distance. The ridged outer ring around this cutout is a nice touch. A solitary LED flash lies outside of the camera cutout, aligned to the top-right corner of the panel.
The glass back panel has a matte finish which elevates the in-hand feel of the device. The quality of materials used here is very premium. We didn’t feel like using this device with a case solely due to its in-hand feel. The rubberized texture of the aluminium frame complements the back panel very nicely. While the edges of the smartphone are flat, the back panel curves into them ever so slightly.
The bottom edge of the aluminium frame houses the SIM tray, microphone array, USB Type-C slot, and speaker grille. The alert slider makes its way to the left edge while the secondary microphone and the IR blaster find their way up top. The volume rocker keys and the side button are positioned on the right edge. At the bottom of this edge, lies the new ‘Quick Button’ which is inspired by the Camera Control button from the new iPhone 16 series. This isn’t an actual physical button, per se, but rather a touch-sensitive strip that relies on the feedback from the haptic motor to simulate the ‘press’. Double pressing this button triggers the camera and sliding your finger on it adjusts the zoom.
The 6.78-inch curved LTPO AMOLED display on the Find X8 Pro is an absolute delight. It can reach 1,600 nits in High Brightness Mode and remains perfectly legible under direct sunlight. While playing HDR content, this display can hit a staggering 4,500 nits of peak brightness. There’s support for a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes the touch response super smooth. Despite being slightly curved towards the edges, the display does not register any accidental touches. The under-display optical fingerprint scanner is quite snappy but pales in comparison to the ultrasonic units we’ve seen in this price range.
During the review period, we played several titles across OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar on the Oppo Find X8 Pro. The display produced vivid, contrasty images which packed a lot of detail and showcased the glorious deep blacks. The stereo speaker setup was loud enough to overpower the surrounding noise without letting any distortion creep into the mix. Overall, the media-streaming experience on this smartphone is rock solid and leaves no room for complaints.
A lot of folks are apprehensive about Dimensity 9400’s performance in comparison to its direct rival Snapdragon 8 Elite. After using the Find X8 Pro for a week, we can attest that this 3nm chipset is a powerhouse. Oppo’s flagship smartphone crushes any task you throw at it. The 16GB LPPDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage ensure you stay on top of things at all times. We loaded a dozen apps on the device and it did not break a sweat. The app load time is fractional and switching between multiple tasks is not a hassle at all. Routine tasks like media streaming, web browsing, video calling, and instant messaging present no lags at all. Even demanding tasks like video editing were handled expertly by the device.
While Oppo doesn’t market the Find X8 Pro as a gaming smartphone, we still expect a good gaming experience from a device that costs Rs 1 lakh. To test its gaming performance, we played titles like Call of Duty Mobile and BGMI on the smartphone. Even with the graphics set to their maximum setting, the Find X8 Pro did not interrupt the gameplay with any lag or hiccup. The vapour chamber inside the device keeps its temperature in check. After 40 minutes of intense gaming, we could barely feel any warmth on the back panel.
The Oppo Find X8 Pro runs Android 15 skinned with ColorOS 15 out of the box. Right off the bat, there is some bloatware to be found on the device, which is never a good look at this price point. Once you get past that, the ColorOS 15 does nothing but impress. Its vibrant aesthetic along with eye-catching animations and a diverse range of customisation options make for a tremendous software experience.
Some elements of Oppo’s Android skin have been highly influenced by Apple’s iOS. The Quick Settings menu on the Find X8 Pro looks similar to the iPhone’s Control Centre, as do the default wallpapers and lock screen widgets. Even the depth effect for the lock screen clock is directly lifted from the iPhone. But the similarities don’t just end there. The punch hole cutout on the display produces Dynamic Island-style popup animations for music playback, live alerts, and system functions like low battery and more. But, to Oppo’s credit, these animations are tasteful and do not feel like a cheap knockoff.
If these similarities aren’t enough to sway a loyal iPhone user, the Oppo Find X8 Pro also has a ‘Share with iPhone’ feature that makes file sharing easy with your iPhone buddies. In terms of software support, however, the Find X8 Pro trails behind the segment leaders in Samsung and Google, promising 5 major OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches.
The battery performance is where Oppo steers ahead of its competition in this segment. The Find X8 Pro packs a massive 5,910mAh silicon-carbon battery unit under its hood. We pushed the Oppo Find X8 Pro to its boundaries during the review period and never once felt betrayed by the battery. Even with heavy usage, the smartphone has the mileage to last an entire day with ease. On moderate use, we were left with a 30% spare charge at the end of the day. The 80W SuperVOOC charge provided in the box replenishes the battery to 100% in less than an hour. There’s support for 50W wireless charging as well.
Moving on to Oppo’s bread and butter, let’s talk about the camera performance of the Find X8 Pro. Here is a breakdown of the smartphone’s rear quad camera setup.
We spent a lot of time with the Find X8 Pro’s camera and were blown away by its performance. The primary shooter takes stupendous images in outdoor daylight conditions, packing rich colours, superb dynamic range, and a tremendous level of detail. The resulting images are very close to life. We were very impressed with how the sensor exposed the sky at different stages of the day. Even in harsh midday lighting, the camera ascribed rich colours to the sky and did not let the light intensity blow out the colour of the subject we were shooting.
The ultrawide camera replicates the performance of the primary shooting without any shift in the colour profile. Very rarely do we see an ultrawide lens do this, but it is the case here. It even managed to preserve the sharpness of the shadows and rendered them in beautiful detail. You can use the primary shooter and ultrawide lens interchangeably on this smartphone and that is perhaps the highest compliment we can bestow upon it.

From scheduling cleanups to setting no-go zones, the app ensures you’re in control—even when you’re not home. Voice control with Alexa and Google Assistant feature is also available in case you have these smart devices at home.
Equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, this robo-vac boasts up to five hours of uninterrupted cleaning in Quiet mode. Again, that is claimed by the company. We got just under 4 hours from it at medium levels of suction. You can get more if you drop the suction level to a bare minimum. However, when it needs a juice boost, it heads back to the docking station. The only drawback, during power outages, it may lose its way, turning into a confused wanderer.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” is the top song on the Top Songs of 2024: Global, becoming his biggest hit on Apple Music. Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” debuts at No. 2, followed by Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” at No. 3, and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” at No. 4. Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” rounds out the top five.
Whereas, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” is the biggest song of the year on Apple Music worldwide by a female-identifying artist. Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” takes fifth place, with Swift having seven songs on the year-end global songs chart. SZA follows closely behind with six songs, with “Snooze” landing at No. 11, two spots behind Billie Eilish’s “BIRDS OF A FEATHER.”
According to Apple, the 2024 global Shazam chart is dominated by newcomers, with Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” at No. 1 and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” at No. 2. The top five are dominated by artists who have never made the year-end charts before, with FloyyMenor and CrisMJ’s “Gata Only” at No. 3, Australian DJ and producer CYRIL’s remix of Disturbed’s “The Sound of Silence” at No. 3, and songwriter and producer Artemas’ “i like the way you kiss me.” The chart also includes catalogue hits like Natasha Bedingfield’s 2004 pop hit “Unwritten” and Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s 2001 disco-pop hit “Murder On The Dancefloor,” which saw a resurgence in streams after being featured in the movie Saltburn.

Apple Music has added the Shazam Global Radio Spins chart for the first time to its year-end charts, determining what’s playing on over 40,000 radio stations worldwide. Dua Lipa leads the chart with “Houdini,” having six songs on the chart. Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran tie for second with four songs each, followed by Sabrina Carpenter with three songs. Pop leads the chart with 54 songs, while the country had a strong year with Beyoncé’s “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” and Dasha’s “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” all in the top 20.

Touch Sampling adjustment, Network switch option, Game Small Window function, and FPS meter are all new features in the redesigned Ultra Game Mode UI.

Moving on, the keyboard features two colour schemes—white and grey—as well as RGB lighting throughout. It has a 78-key layout design, eliminating unnecessary space while retaining the media scroll/keys, macro keys, and numpad for increased usefulness. The keyboard also sports a metal scroll for adjusting brightness and volume in the upper right corner.

Standard keys are used in place of mechanical keys for the media and macro buttons at the top of the keyboard. Because of this, they are a bit more difficult to press, yet they are strong and work well. You can also use software to personalise the macro keys, which adds even more functionality.
Its top board is made of solid aluminium and has the traditional frosted surface treatment applied to it. The user is provided with twin pull-out feet beneath the keyboard, which elevate it a few millimetres for a more comfortable and ergonomic experience.
The socket’s distinctive, proprietary construction design makes mounting the switch less difficult. Overall, it appears to be of excellent quality.
The Redragon Magicwand SE keyboard can select from up to 20 preset backlighting setting options. There are also onboard controls for brightness and flow speed so you can choose your favourite playing mode. Over that, cleaning is made simple by the ability to remove and separate the keys.
Redragon Magicwand SE has a travel distance of about 2 ms and requires an actuation force of 40 ms for a keypress. Additionally, the keyboard has a very low response time. Although three-pin switches have been used, it also supports five-pin switches, which is an additional benefit. The keys are also easily configurable. Since these are linear switches, typing on them is a treat.

The keyboard is RGB illuminated, as we previously stated. To disable this feature, hit the backspace key. There are 20 easily adjustable backlight effects included.
Despite its small size, the keyboard still has arrow keys and a full-fledged numpad with media keys on top. A volume roller and more media keys are located in the upper right corner, while some macro buttons are placed in the upper left corner. All of these work flawlessly. Some of them are a little soft or more difficult to press than others because they are not mechanical switches. Nonetheless, easy to use.
