Check if other devices are facing the same issue

Best ways to fix Android connected to WiFi but no internet issue Connect another device to the WiFi network and see if you are able to access the Internet on it. This should be the first step in diagnosing the issue at hand. It will help you figure out whether the issue lies with your device or the Router/ISP. If you cannot access the Internet on the other device either, then the issue lies with the WiFi router or the Internet Service Provider.

Login to the WiFi network

If you’re using public WiFi, there is usually an extra step you need to carry out after establishing connection with the network. Depending on the WiFi network, it may require you to log in using a portal or simply agree to the terms and conditions of the service. You can access this portal by tapping on the notification that pops up on your phone as soon as you connect to the WiFi. Ignore this step if you’re using a home WiFi network.

Restart the Router

A quick restart can fix any background glitches or issues with your WiFi router. Some routers may have a notification light for when the Internet is down. To restart your router, simply turn off its power switch from the wall outlet and turn it back on. Wait for a couple of minutes and try connecting your device to the network again.

Change Date & Time Settings

Your phone updates the date and time automatically without ever needing any manual calibration. However, if you have turned off the automatic updates, an incorrect date or time can prevent you from using a WiFi network. Here’s how you can change the date and time settings to automatic on your smartphone. Step 1: Go to Settings and select ‘General Management’. Step 1: Go to Settings, scroll down and select General management. Step 2: Tap on ‘Date and time’ and turn the toggle bar on for ‘Automatic date and time’. Step 2: Tap on ‘Date and time’ and turn the toggle bar on for ‘Automatic date and time’.

Make sure mobile data is turned off

While your smartphone always prioritises a WiFi connection over mobile data, some phones make the switch to mobile data every time there is a minor lag with the WiFi connection. In this scenario, your phone stays connected to the WiFi network but uses mobile data. Turn off mobile data to stay connected to the WiFi network.

Forget your WiFi network and add it again

One of the easiest fixes for any WiFi-related issue is forgetting the network and adding it again. Here’s how you can do it. Step 1: Go to Settings and select Connections. Step 3: Tap on ‘Forget’ at the bottom of the screen. Step 3: Tap on ‘Forget’ at the bottom of the screen. Now, go to the previous page and connect the WiFi again.

Treat WiFi Connection as Unmetered

Your phone has the option to monitor the data it consumes and pause all internet activity after it hits a certain predetermined limit. If your WiFi isn’t working, it may be because you may have set it as a metered connection. Here’s how you can fix it. Step 1: Go to Settings and select Connections. Step 1: Go to Settings and select Connections. Step 2: Tap on WiFi, then tap on the gear icon next to your WiFi network. Step 2: Tap on WiFi, then tap on the gear icon next to your WiFi network. Step 3: Tap on ‘View More’. Step 3: Tap on ‘View More’. Step 4: Tap on ‘Metered Network’ and select ‘Treat as unmetered’. Step 4: Tap on ‘Metered Network’ and select ‘Treat as unmetered’.

Change the DNS

It is possible that your Internet Service Provider’s DNS is at fault here. Try switching to Google’s DNS and check if the Internet activity has returned to normalcy. Step 1: Go to Settings and select Connections. Step 1: Go to Settings and select Connections. Step 2: Tap on ‘More connection settings’ at the bottom of the screen. Here’s how you can reset network settings on an Android smartphone. Step 1: Go to Settings and select ‘General Management’. Step 1: Go to Settings, scroll down and select General management. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G Review: A great mid-ranger for everyday use

After unveiling its flagship Galaxy S series in February, Samsung turned its focus to the midrange segment in March, expanding its A series portfolio. The Samsung Galaxy A54 and A34 are finally here, competing in a segment full of flagship killers and value-for-money smartphones. The higher-priced Galaxy A54 locks horns with the OnePlus 11R (review here) and Vivo V27 Pro (review here). While the 11R brings a powerful processor (Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1) to the table, the V27 Pro offers a stellar camera performance. Needless to say, the Galaxy A54 has its task cut out for it. We used the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G for about a week, here is our in-depth review. Read Also: Redmi A2, A2+ with MediaTek Helio G36 & 500mAh battery launched

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy A54 ships inside the signature compact rectangular Samsung box, which is a dead giveaway that there isn’t a power adapter in there. The contents have been kept to a minimum. Inside the box, you will find the smartphone, a USB Type-C to Type-C charging cable, a SIM ejector tool, and a quick start guide. The phone does not come with a plastic case neither there is any protective covering on the display out of the box. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Design and Display Pulling the device out of its plastic covering, you’ll notice that Samsung has made some noticeable upgrades on the build and form factor. You may remember last year’s Galaxy A53 (review here) sporting a plastic back. Well, that’s not the case with the A54 as it gets a flat glossy glass back panel. This dramatically elevates the in-hand feel of the device, something that you expect when you’re paying almost Rs 40,000 for a smartphone. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Design and Display In terms of design, Samsung seems to be sticking with S23’s camera array setup on this year’s A series. We saw this earlier with the Galaxy A14 (review here) as well. A welcome addition, although some may argue it robs the smartphone of its uniqueness. The design in itself is pretty minimal, the three camera lenses are arranged vertically on the top left section of the back panel. While the lenses stick out a bit further compared to the S23 series, the smartphone doesn’t wobble while resting on a flat surface.  The plastic material used on the frame is a stark departure from the premium feel of the glass back. The frame is quite chunky, and if you move your finger from the display to the edges, you will be able to feel the raised borders of the frame. Having said that, the matte-like texture on the frame provides a nice grip. The volume rocker and the power key are positioned on the right side of the frame while the left side has been left empty. The USB port, speaker grille, and microphones are housed at the bottom of the phone. The secondary speaker and SIM tray are placed at the top. Samsung continues to knock it out of the park with its stellar displays. The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display has a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. Even under bright sunlight, the display is perfectly legible. The touch receptivity is as smooth as it gets, which makes the browsing experience extremely satisfying. The under-display fingerprint works fine but could have been a bit quicker. The sizeable bezels around the display are a disappointment, especially when you consider that the A54 costs Rs 39,000. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Design and Display Once you get past the bezels, the Samsung Galaxy A54 is pretty good when it comes to watching content. The images produced on the screen are vibrant, well-composed, and pack a lot of details. While Samsung doesn’t mention HDR support for this display, the YouTube app is able to play HDR videos. The same doesn’t apply to Netflix. Another aspect where the Galaxy A54 pulls ahead of its competitors is dust and water resistance. With an IP67 rating, you don’t have to worry about any water damage in case you accidentally spill something on the phone or take it out in rainy conditions. While we’re talking about protection, the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is also a pretty good piece of hardware to have.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Performance and Cameras

Let us get the specs out of the way first. The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is powered by the new Exynos 1380 SoC and comes with Android 13 out of the box. The OS is skinned with One UI 5.1. GPU duties are handled by the Mali G-68 MP5. The smartphone comes in two storage variants (128GB and 256GB) with 8GB RAM. The 256GB variant has been priced at Rs 40,999. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Performance and Cameras The new Exynos 1380 SoC is a decent chip on paper, but it is certainly a step behind its Snapdragon counterparts. In this price segment, a better SoC would’ve made all the difference. Compare this to the OnePlus 11R which comes with last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is a tremendous processor on all accounts. This isn’t to say that the Exynos 1380 is a bad chip by any means, but it pales in comparison to the competition.  The Exynos 1380 SoC handles the basics pretty well. Browsing through the apps is met with no delays or lags, although a slight dip in performance is noticeable when you overload the system with multiple apps running in the background. While this scenario may not present itself in everyday use, the other processors in this price range are able to handle it pretty well. Talking about benchmarks, the Samsung Galaxy A14 scored 1010 points on the single-core Geekbench 6 test. The multi-core test returned 2820 points. In comparison, the OnePlus 11R scored 888 points and the Vivo V27 Pro scored 1151 points. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Performance and Cameras We played Call of Duty Mobile on the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and the performance was decent. The only drawback when it comes to gaming is that some games, including Call of Duty, do not run in the maximum graphics setting. This may not bother casual gamers but if you’re looking for a serious gaming smartphone, there are better options out there. While playing COD we noticed slight overheating around the camera array after 30 minutes of gameplay. The gaming performance was not affected right away, but as the back panel got hotter, frame drops also increased in frequency. Samsung’s One UI remains one of the best Android skins out there. The A54 gets the full One UI experience, with only a few premium features (like Samsung Dex) held back. There is some bloatware on the phone, which isn’t a good look at this price point. One UI comes with integrated ‘Link to Windows’ connectivity, which makes it easy to remotely access your phone’s functions from your PC. Samsung’s Secure Folder and Maintenance Mode are two great privacy features that we liked on this device. Samsung has promised 4 years of major OS updates along with 5 years of security updates with the A54, which is incredible to see. Samsung Galaxy A54’s battery performance is quite satisfactory. Packed with a 5,000 mAh battery unit, the smartphone can easily last a day with 5-6 hours of screen-on time. On moderate to heavy usage, we were consistently left with a 15-20% charge by the end of the day. With 25W charging support, the smartphone takes around 90 minutes to fully juice up. Faster charging would have been ideal here. Moving on, the camera performance is one of the bigger highlights of this device. Samsung seems to have done its homework and presented a well-rounded camera unit that doesn’t leave much room for complaints. The rear camera array sports a 50MP primary shooter, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro lens. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Performance and Cameras The primary 50MP camera produces some beautiful images for us in daylight conditions. We were particularly impressed by the perfect exposure level on the images. The camera managed to capture the sky in its ideal tone without overexposing it. Even the background objects were captured with a good amount of detail. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Performance and Cameras
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Performance and Cameras
Ultrawide Shot
The colours produced in the images are simply amazing. The saturation levels are on point and the colours are punchy. The camera manages to capture the full range of dynamic colours and the smartphone nails the image processing aspect perfectly. Even the ultrawide lens did not compromise on the colour profile. Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Performance and Cameras
Ultrawide Shot
This exceptional camera performance continues in lowlight conditions. With the Night Mode on, the A54 reduced the grain on the images and brightened them up pretty well. The colours were well-balanced and close to real even with the Night Mode on. We were impressed that the brightening effect did not mess with the colour of the subject.
Without Night Mode vs With Night Mode
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G review: Performance and Cameras
Night Mode
Night Mode
Portrait Mode
In Portrait Mode, the smartphone did a great job of recognising the edges and isolating the subject from the background. The results are stunning, especially when there’s an optimum amount of light falling on the subject. The 32MP selfie camera produces good results as well. The skin tone of the subject is aptly reproduced in the images and the overlaying effects have been kept to a minimum. The selfie camera can record videos in 4K resolution as well. Verdict

With Samsung Galaxy A54 you get a stunning display that you simply can’t put down. The glass back panel brings an exquisite in-hand feel to the smartphone, something that is only matched by flagship devices. The camera performance is delightful and matches some of the best camera-centric phones in this category. However, when you’re paying Rs 39,000 for a smartphone, you expect slimmer bezels around the display. We would have preferred this smartphone with a Snapdragon SoC, but casual users will not mind the Exynos processor. Having said that, certain features like an IP76 rating and four years of major OS updates make the Samsung Galaxy A54 an attractive device for everyday users.

Samsung Galaxy A54: Pros

  • Brilliant display
  • Great camera performance
  • IP67 rating
  • Four years of major OS upgrades + 5 years of security patches

Samsung Galaxy A54: Cons

  • Prominent bezels around the display
  • Average SoC
  • Slow charging

For most smartphone users, photos and videos take up most of the storage space on their devices. Your smartphone camera can capture a lot of detail in the images and videos it shoots. You can back up your data using a cloud service like iCloud and Google Drive or create a local backup on a memory card or an external hard drive.

This is understandable as having local access to the media is very convenient and one of the reasons why people enjoy using smartphones in the first place. But what if you could back up images to the cloud while also accessing a version of the image that doesn’t take up much space on your phone? Well, your iPhone can do precisely that. Fresh rivalries are being forged in the AI chatbot sphere as the competition for giants like Open AI, Microsoft, and Google seems to be strengthening with the emergence of new players. According to a recent Bloomberg report, Microsoft warned two search engines that it will cut off access to Bing’s search data if they continue to use it for their AI tools. The report did not reveal which search engines received this warning. Read Also: Redmi A2, A2+ with MediaTek Helio G36 & 500mAh battery launched

AI chatbot rivalries are beginning to take shape

Microsoft currently licenses Bing’s search data to other search engines like DuckDuckGo, You.com, Neeva, and even Yahoo. These search engines utilise Bing’s data to save resources and pull faster results from the web. By issuing this warning, Microsoft has made it clear that the license to use Bing’s index doesn’t extend to feeding search data to rival AI tools and chatbots. Flouting this new guideline could result in Microsoft cutting access to its search engine altogether.  While the report does not make it clear which search engines received this warning, DuckDuckGo, You.com, and Neeva have put out AI tools recently. DuckDuckGo launched ‘Duck Assist’ earlier this month, an AI tool that provides natural language responses to search queries using Wikipedia. You.com’s YouWrite lets users write short content for blog posts and emails. Neeva’s AI tool provides short summaries for your search queries and cites all the sources used in its response. AI chatbot rivalries are beginning to take shape Microsoft’s AI-powered Bing chatbot offers the same natural language query response as its competition. The tech giant seems determined to gain a stronghold in the chatbot sphere even if it means terminating existing licenses. Microsoft also remains one of the biggest stakeholders in Open AI, investing more than $1 billion in the artificial intelligence project. WhatsApp working on a new ‘Audio Chats’ feature for Android

Instant Messaging app WhatsApp is working on a new ‘Audio Chats’ feature for Android and could release it in a future update. The new feature was spotted during the beta tests of the 2.23.7.12 version of the app. While there’s not much known about this new feature yet, it seems to be WhatsApp’s version of Twitter Spaces. How are WhatsApp ‘Audio Chats’ different from voice calls?

In the recently surfaced screenshots, the waveform icon for audio chats finds its way to the chat header, right next to the video call icon. Tapping on the waveform icon reveals the option to call the group or open the ‘audio chat’. Another screenshot shows the ‘end call’ icon on top of the chat header. There is some free space on the left side of the icon and will likely be filled out with some graphics. It is believed that this could the audio chat toolbar, where a live waveform would be visible during an ongoing audio chat. Users will be able to browse the app while the toolbar stays fixed on top of the screen.

So how are audio chats different from regular voice calling on WhatsApp? While a voice call makes every single group member an active call participant, audio chats will allow group members to listen to a conversation without joining it. Listeners will be able to drop in and out of the conversation at any time. This is similar to how Twitter Spaces and Clubhouse work. Unlike a regular group voice call, you won’t receive a constant ringing notification for an audio chat. As of now, the feature seems to be in its early stages of development. It is evident from the screenshots that the UI isn’t close to being finished. The toolbar still needs some additions and WhatsApp may even reposition certain functions on the chat header. It is also possible that this feature may not see an official release. WhatsApp could very well scrap it in the beta testing phase. While there is a lot of speculation around this new feature, it makes sense to integrate it with the Communities section that was introduced recently by WhatsApp. While voice calls will remain the staple form of audio conversations among small groups, audio chats will cater to large communities where moderating a group voice call can prove to be a tedious effort. On the other hand, its flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S23+, offers a similar (if not better) battery performance with a 4,700mAh unit. So, which factors determine the battery performance of a smartphone and why do phones with big batteries often offer average battery life? Let’s find out. Processors and internal hardware matter more than you think

Compared: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 vs MediaTek Dimensity 9200 A good processor is one of the big reasons why flagship smartphones offer a better battery life with a smaller battery unit. Every new crop of chipsets offers more efficiency and the ability to make better choices in order to increase the battery life of the device. Even small updates to the SoC can significantly increase the battery performance. Last year, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 was 30% more power efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. 2023’s flagship SoC, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is already an improvement from the previous generation. The internal cooling system of a smartphone is another piece of hardware that plays a pivotal role in extending its battery life. Internal heating leads to a greater loss of energy, which means a lower battery backup. Smartphones like OnePlus 10T and Asus ROG Phone are able to maximize battery backup with their superior cooling systems.

Power-hungry displays lead to a greater battery drain

OnePlus 11 review: Design and Display Your smartphone’s display is one of the biggest consumers of power on the device. Larger displays consume more power, which is generally balanced out by a bigger battery. A smartphone’s battery life is typically gauged by its ‘screen on time’ due to this very reason. The choice of a display panel can affect the battery life of a smartphone by a significant margin. Midrange and budget smartphones generally come with LCD displays, which are extremely power-hungry. In comparison, OLED displays consume less battery while producing better results.  The display’s refresh rate is also a big factor in how quickly the battery gets drained. If you use your phone on the maximum refresh rate setting, you will notice that it runs out of power fairly quickly. A 120Hz refresh rate display will not last as long as a 90Hz or 60Hz display with the same screen-on time.

Is your phone’s software making smart choices?

Android 13 Developer Preview 1 now being rolled out: Here is everything about the features and compatibility details The OS running on your device can boost the battery backup by killing off background apps and tasks, which would otherwise slowly drain the battery. A well-optimised software is able to make these smart choices. It is also a good idea to keep a check on your phone’s background tasks and record which apps use the most power.

5G connectivity can demand more from your phone

Users who have just made the switch to 5G can attest that high-speed connectivity comes at a price. While using a 5G network, your smartphone is capable of consuming up to 20% more power. Newer processors are able to tackle this issue, to the point that it is not an immediate concern. But if you’re looking to extend the battery life of your device, switching back to 4G will certainly help. Read Also: Sennheiser launches Profile USB Microphone in India, prices start at Rs 10,900

Conclusion

If a great battery life is one of your biggest priorities while buying a smartphone, you should look beyond the battery capacity numbers. The processor, display, and cooling system of a device is just as important as the battery unit. Want to improve your smartphone’s battery life? This article may help. A Guide to Online Privacy: How to Keep Your Data Safe

In today’s data-driven society, protecting your personal information is like wearing a helmet on a bike. Sure, you may not always need it, but when you do, it can save you from a lot of pain and frustration. As technology advances, so does the need to safeguard your online presence. Unfortunately, the digital sphere is rife with malicious threats and fraud attempts.

Why Online Privacy is Important

Protecting your online privacy is essential in today’s digital world, as hackers can exploit your personal information for some seriously shady activities, from identity theft to financial fraud, and even physical harm. Online privacy violations are unfortunately all too widespread. Do you remember the Facebook controversy from 2018 where an outside consultancy firm obtained the personal information of up to 50 million users? What about Target Corporation’s 2013 data breach, which exposed the banking information of around 40 million customers? These incidents highlight the importance of online privacy and the potential consequences of poor privacy practices. Furthermore, with online betting and gaming becoming increasingly popular, protecting your privacy is particularly important when using these platforms. You typically have to provide extremely private information, like your name, address, and credit card information, especially in the case of online casinos, where you deal with financial data. Keeping those data secure will allow you to fully enjoy the excitement and fun of any digital experience while ensuring your peace of mind.

Tips for Protecting Your Online Privacy

The good news is, there are several steps you can take to protect your online privacy, 10 of which are outlined as follows:
  1. Keep Secure Passwords. Keeping your online data secure requires a strong password, as weak or obvious passwords are easier to guess. Make sure your passwords are unique and enable two-factor authentication whenever possible.
  2. Use Two-Factor Authentication. Two-factor authentication adds another layer of security by requiring another verification method in addition to your password, such as a code sent to your phone number or email address. Enabling two-factor authentication where possible is one of the easiest ways to protect your online privacy.
  3. Use a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Several surveys have shown that people primarily use personal VPNs to enhance their online security. According to a Forbes report, around 80% of VPN users employ them for data protection purposes. With a VPN, your data is safe since it is encrypted and directed through secure servers. This makes it extremely difficult for hackers and other malicious individuals to access your sensitive information.
  4. Install antivirus and anti-malware software. Antivirus software can protect personal data online by detecting and removing malicious software like viruses and malware. In addition to providing extra security features, antivirus software often includes firewalls and password managers. Read about GadgetBridge’s top anti-virus picks to choose the antivirus software best suited to your needs.
  5. Use ad blockers and privacy extensions. Ad blockers are browser add-ons that help safeguard your private information by prohibiting trackers, adverts, and other invasive features. Ad blockers not only stop ads and pop-ups, but they also speed up web page loading times and enhance security when browsing. Additionally, there are numerous privacy-focused Chrome and Firefox extensions that help safeguard your data from being monitored or gathered without your consent.
  6. Follow public Wi-Fi safety advice. Only use HTTPS websites when connected to public Wi-Fi, since these sites encrypt your data and help keep you safe online. Also, restrict your use of Airdrop and file sharing when in public, as they can leave your device vulnerable to hackers and malware. Lastly, avoid entering sensitive information, such as passwords or bank accounts, when using public Wi-Fi.
  7. Control your social media privacy settings. When you control your privacy on social media, you can restrict who sees what you share publicly. You can effectively reduce the possibility of unauthorized access to your data by restricting the visibility of your profile, posts, and personal information.
  8. Follow email safety tips. Keeping your email software up to date, avoiding using your email platform on public Wi-Fi networks, and reporting suspicious emails as spam, are crucial when protecting yourself and your data online.
  9. Back up your data to a trusted device or cloud storage solution. Backing up your data can help protect you from data loss due to hardware failure, malware, and ransomware attacks. Additionally, you can restore earlier versions of your files and guarantee the availability of your important data whenever and wherever you require it.
  10. Employ encrypted messaging and email services. With encryption, your messages are unreadable to external sources. Use encrypted messaging services like Signal and WhatsApp to safeguard your privacy and maintain the confidentiality of your messages. To enhance email security, many email service providers also offer encryption. For example, Gmail’s network-level encryption adds an additional layer of security to protect user data.

Sennheiser Profile USB Microphone offers plug-and-play functionality with Apple, Android, and Windows devices. All you need to do is plug in the mic to the USB-C port of your device and you’re ready to go. Sennheiser Profile USB Microphone The Profile USB Microphone features a clean, minimal design. The 3.5mm socket for the headphones is placed at the back of the Profile mic. The LED ring lights around the controls denote the working status of the microphone. A green light around the gain control means that the microphone is functional. When this light turns yellow, it means the microphone is clipping and its volume needs to be reduced. Muting the microphone lights up the red LED around the mute button and the gain control. The Sennheiser Profile USB Microphone comes with ⅜” and ⅝” connectors at the bottom which allow the mic to be used with any third-party table stand. Interviewed: We talk to Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India, what the 2023 roadmap looks like

Mobile World Congress came to life after a few years in 2023. Once the big event was over, we caught up with Mr Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India to know what the company has in store for 2023. We threw some curve balls at him and being the kind-hearted person he is, he sportingly answered them all for us.

What are some of the key challenges facing the semiconductor industry, and how is MediaTek working to address these challenges?

We are in the midst of global digital transformations and this has also led to an increase in demand for smart devices. Semiconductor manufacturing is a complex process involving advanced technologies, requisite infrastructure, and a skilled workforce. We are focusing on our range of products and are very upbeat about the market demand and dynamics. MediaTek is always focused on expanding its reach to more customers and new market segments via increased investments in R&D as well as collaboration with OEMs and technology firms, and we’ve seen significant growth in the Indian market. Our focus is to continuously innovate in order to meet industry demands.

Can you discuss MediaTek’s strategy for entering and expanding into new markets, particularly in emerging regions like India?

India is a highly prospective market for MediaTek. The reason, as you know, we are the second largest in the world in terms of the Internet user population, next to China. India is also ranked second in terms of the number of smartphone users. Also, the rate of digital adoption is soaring across both urban and rural areas. This is an opportunity for not only MediaTek but the entire ecosystem players. We aim to capitalize on this opportunity while also building new capabilities to address the market demands. As 5G adoption grows, we expect the momentum to grow further, pushing the demand for high-end SoCs like the latest flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 series and higher, as well as smart home devices like smart speakers, smart TVs, Wi-Fi 7 and higher, and other smart devices that make homes and people connected always. Read Also: How often should you upgrade your Android smartphone? Thus, MediaTek’s strategy in India revolves around these opportunities. In line with the government vision of enabling ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat’, we are also working closely with our partners and OEMs to ensure a sustainable ecosystem in place. MediaTek is focused on 5G technologies and innovative semiconductor use cases, in order to democratize technology and make it available for the end consumers.

MediaTek has been working on developing 5G technology. How does MediaTek plan to differentiate its 5G solutions from other players in the market, and what are the company’s goals for faster 5G adoption in the near future?

MediaTek has an extensive focus on 5G technologies that have been used across the entire product line in smartphones and smart devices. Working aggressively to make 5G experiences accessible to OEMs, customers and MediaTek-powered products are already ruling the market such as MediaTek Dimensity 5G Series, the latest being MediaTek Dimensity 7200, Dimensity 8200 and Dimensity 9200, Dimensity 9000, and Dimensity 8000 among others. Dimensity 5G Open Resource Architecture is another key differentiator, offering device makers the chance to customize the product as per their customer requirements With this unique proposition, we continue to enhance each portfolio with exclusive technologies such as the latest HyperEngine 6.0, MediaTek APU 690 – Ultimate AI with eXtreme Power Savings, 4CC-CA Sub-6GHz capable 5G R16 modem, AI-Video Engine, Imagiq 890 Camera with RGBW Sensor Native Support, MiraVision display technologies, and more. 5G is all about higher speed, faster connectivity and greater energy savings, so the devices have to be designed to get the best out of these capabilities. However, to spur the adoption of these devices, we have to also focus on mass acceptance. Thus, our 5G portfolio is designed to be the perfect blend of brilliance, performance, and next-gen experiences.

How was MWC 2023 for MediaTek? Anything you want to throw light upon from the event from MediaTek’s point of view?

At MWC 2023, MediaTek showcased ground-breaking technologies & innovations with the launch of the new MediaTek Dimensity 7200 and MediaTek 5G NTN Solution that will enable two-way satellite communications to smartphones and other devices with its 3GPP standards-based 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) solution. Also, we showcased our MediaTek  Dimensity, Filogic, Genio, Kompanio, and Pentonic portfolio. MediaTek’s satellite communications portfolio will target both IoT-NTN and NR-NTN technology based on the 3GPP 5G specification for Release 17 (R17). With two-way satellite communications on smartphones and other devices, consumers can stay in touch when they are hiking, driving in secluded areas, on a boat, or in other situations where there has traditionally been no connectivity.

Can you discuss MediaTek’s vision for the future of mobile computing, and how the company plans to stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies?

MediaTek enables nearly 2 billion connected devices a year, which means one in every five connected devices is powered by MediaTek. We are on a mission to make technology democratisation a reality, and with that mission, we focus on the portfolio to cover the entire gamut of customers, from flagship to premium and mainstream. We have invested hugely in R&D to bring the best products to the market, to fulfil the demands of gen Z customers and beyond, while also fulfilling the evolving requirements of Gen X and Y customers. The latest in the Dimensity family of smartphones, the flagship Dimensity 9200, demonstrates some of the industry-best feature sets like >3GHz CPU performance, WiFi 7-ready 5G sub – 6 GHz and mmWave, G715 GPU with hardware ray tracing, and many more. We also continue our leadership in key technology areas, including highly power-efficient technologies, automotive solutions and a broad range of advanced multimedia products such as smartphones, tablets, digital televisions, 5G, Voice Assistant Devices (VADs), streaming devices, and wearables. We will continue delivering on this momentum to build a smarter and broader device ecosystem. For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on TwitterFacebook and Instagram.
