Apple has revealed the finalists and winners of the 2025 Design Awards, honouring 12 innovative games and applications. Inclusivity award
The Inclusivity award category recognises applications and games that cater to people from all origins, abilities, and languages. Speechify and Art of Fauna have received this particular award. This category’s finalists are Evolve by GTA Solutions, Train Fitness by Train Fitness, Puffies by Lykke Studios, and Land of Livia by Split Atom Labs.
With support for hundreds of voices in more than 50 languages, Speechify is an app that makes it possible to turn written text into audio. In the Delight & Fun category, CapWords and Balatro have won an award. Raja V’s Lumy, Feel Good Tech’s Denim, Panic’s Thank Goodness You’re Here!, and Ubisoft Montpellier’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown are among the finalists in this category.
CapWords is a dynamic language learning software that turns common things into interactive stickers, allowing users to discover new words intuitively and graphically. The program supports nine languages and immerses users in their environment.
Balatro is a game created by LocalThunk that combines poker, solitaire, and deck-building with roguelike features. Players mix poker hands with joker cards to form unique synergies. The game challenges players to create unique decks in order to beat the blinds.
Innovation
Winners and finalists in this category offer a cutting-edge experience via innovative use of Apple technologies that set them unique in their genre. Play and PBJ — The Musical have won in this category.
The user-friendly tool Play, created by Rabbit 3 Times, lets users create interactive prototypes using SwiftUI frameworks, facilitating seamless collaboration between Mac and iPhone that is synchronised in real time.
PBJ — The Musical is a fun snack-based Shakespeare game that portrays the narrative of Romeo and Juliet with condiments. It combines rhythm-based gameplay with narrative storytelling, haptic feedback, smart camera work, and humorous dialogue.
Social Impact
The winners and finalists in the Social Impact category make a major difference in people’s lives and raise important concerns. Watch Duty and Neva are the winners in this category. Finalists in this category are Ground News by Snapwise, Opal by Opal OS, Ahoy! From Picardy by Daniel Jones, and Art of Fauna by Klemens Strasser.
Watch Duty, created by the Sherwood Forestry Service, provides real-time updates, evacuation information, and crucial resources during Southern California wildfires, including as fire perimeters, wind speed, and evacuation orders. Neva, on the other hand, is an action-adventure game developed by Devolver Digital that follows a girl and her wolf companion as they navigate a declining world. The game delves into issues of friendship, leadership, and environmental devastation, leading players through magnificent landscapes and a compelling plot.

Feather: Draw in 3D and Feather: Draw in 3D have won the Visuals & Graphics category. The winners and finalists in this category include breathtaking visuals, skilfully created interfaces, and high-quality animations that follow a clear and unified theme. This category’s finalists are Vocabulary by Monkey Taps, CellWalk by Timothy Davison, Control Ultimate Edition by Remedy Entertainment PLC, and Neva by Devolver Digital.
Sketchsoft’s Feather app is a 3D sketching tool that turns 2D designs into magnificent 3D masterpieces. It enables users of all ability levels to build complex 3D models on the iPad via touch and Apple Pencil interactions.
Infold Games (Singapore) developed Infinity Nikki, a visually stunning open-world adventure game featuring magical outfits, whimsical creatures, and unexpected moments, showcasing enchanted realms of colour, detail, and rendering.
