Vivo reveals key design and features of X Fold 5, ahead of India launch

The upcoming foldable will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Processor.

Vivo X Fold 5 India launch date is yet to be revealed, but the firm has started to reveal the key specifications and design details of the upcoming foldable phone. The company has confirmed that the X Fold 5 will come equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and a 6,000mAh battery. Vivo X Fold 5 is confirmed to come equipped with a 50MP ZEISS Telephoto Camera for optical precision and a ZEISS Multifocal Portrait system for professional-grade shots.

Ahead of the impending India launch of the Vivo X Fold 5, the firm has disclosed that it would be a slim and lightweight smartphone measuring only 0.92cm1 (9.2mm) when folded and a remarkably slim 0.43 cm (4.3mm) when opened, weighing 217g. The forthcoming phone will have a 6000mAh battery, and 80W FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging will deliver long-lasting power.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Processor will boost CPU speed by 30% and battery efficiency by 25%, enabling smooth file movement, live preview animations, and render reviews.

Furthermore, the handset will pack Vivo’s exclusive Origin Workbench, AI Productivity Suite, and a dedicated Shortcut Button for increased productivity.

The Origin Workbench provides multitasking and a clutter-free interface. It has a Shortcut Button for easy access to essential tools, as well as Gemini Assistant with Google for context-aware tasks and flexibility to different work patterns, such as document review, call scheduling, and personal priorities.

The Titanium Gray colour variation will include softly curved frame edges to improve grip. According to Vivo, its newly developed Kinematic Hinge “600000 Times Foldable” reduces inner screen creases.

The display is designed to support 4500 nits of brightness. The Vivo X Fold 5 camera will have a 50MP ZEISS Telephoto Lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x HyperZoom, allowing you to capture cinematic moments discreetly. Aside from this, there will be a 50MP Ultra Wide-Angle Lens and a 50MP Ultra-Sensing VCS Bionic Main Camera.

The camera app will have capabilities for efficient visual editing, such as AI Image Expander, Magic Move, Erase, and Reflection Erase.
