Samsung Unpacked 2025: Galaxy Watch 8 Series with Exynos W1000 announced

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic during the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. The wearables, available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, feature fitness and health tracking capabilities and are powered by the Exynos W1000 processor. Both variants have Super AMOLED panels with a max brightness of 3,000 nits. The smartwatches are equipped with fall detection, body composition tracking, and blood pressure monitoring capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Series Specs and Features

Both the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic have Super AMOLED screens with 327ppi density and 3,000 nits peak brightness. The Classic model has a resolution of 1.34 inches with a resolution of 438×438 pixels, while the 40mm and 44mm variants have resolutions of 1.34 inches, 438×438 pixels and 1.47 inches with 480×480 pixels of resolution, respectively. The Classic version has a stainless steel case with Sapphire glass covering. In addition, the gadgets have military-grade durability and an IP68 rating.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Series Specs and Features

The Classic model has a Quick Button for convenient access to functions and an oscillating bezel for navigation. They include fitness and health tracking options such as heart rate, ECG, sleep analysis, stress, and AGES Index, as well as fall detection, body composition tracking, and blood pressure monitoring. The Galaxy Watch 8 series has Samsung’s BioActive Sensor, which combines optical bio-signal, heart signal, and bioelectrical impedance analysis sensors, as well as additional sensors such as an accelerometer, barometer, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, light sensor, and temperature sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic are smartwatches powered by One UI 8.0 Watch (Wear OS 6). These are powered by the Exynos W1000 CPU, with the Classic model having 64GB storage and 2GB RAM, and the other variants having 32GB storage and 2GB RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 has a 445mAh battery, while the 40mm and 44mm models have 325mAh and 435mAh batteries, respectively.
