Subtle introduced Voicebuds at CES 2026 that let you speak at a whisper level

Voicebuds are similar to the WHSP ring that was shown at CES 2024 and compete with other AI earbuds like Notebuds One.

Subtle has unveiled Voicebuds at CES 2026, with the goal of changing how voice input works to boost productivity in a range of settings. These new earphones let you dictate, make calls, leave voice notes, and converse with AI at decibels lower than a whisper. This solves problems that standard devices have in loud or public places. They come with a special AI model that lets you provide commands in private and blocks out background noise. This puts Voicebuds in the same category as other similar goods like the WHSP ring and Notebuds One.

Tyler Chen, cofounder and CEO of Subtle, said, “Voicebuds are designed for the way people actually live while on the move, surrounded by noise, or when they need to speak quietly. We built Voicebuds so you can run your day with voice – they’re private enough for shared spaces, accurate enough to trust, and fast enough to become part of your daily workflow.”

At CES 2026, the firm Subtle showed off its new product, Voicebuds. These seem like regular wireless earbuds, but they include a proprietary AI model that lets you speak at a whisper level. These earphones are great at blocking out background noise, so you can provide commands without having to strain your voice. They have a low-volume voice interface, real-time AI software, and a design that doesn’t stand out. This is made possible via a multi-microphone array and proprietary machine learning algorithms. Internal studies show that Voicebuds make up to five times fewer errors when transcribing than AirPods Pro 3 and OpenAI transcription do when there is a lot of noise.

Voicebuds work with the Subtle app for iOS and macOS to provide you with a full voice-first computing experience with several new capabilities. They let users speak in real time, which lets them write four times quicker than normal typing in any application. Plus, they keep their privacy by not being heard by other people. The gadget also lets you record voice notes right away, so you can write down your thoughts without having to take out your phone.

Another notable feature is the contextual AI chat function, which provides customers with a hands-free AI assistant that runs without the use of a screen. Furthermore, Voicebuds improve everyday listening experiences by providing features like noise cancellation, multipairing with devices, and clear phone conversations, all within a familiar earbud style.

This mix of features makes Voicebuds a flexible option that combines many devices and apps into one product, making listening, talking, and using voice commands easier for everyday situations.

This subscription provides a full voice productivity experience, including features like dictation, contextual AI chat, and quick voice notes, all of which can be used without typing, tapping, or navigating between apps. Those interested in pre-ordering can do so through the Subtle website, subtle.co.
