Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to come with a new layer of privacy: The company confirms

There were rumours before that the upcoming phone would have a privacy display.

Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra would soon have a function that will improve user privacy. The business said it would provide a new layer of privacy to keep people from seeing things they shouldn’t in public, which is sometimes called shoulder surfing. This function enables individuals to read messages or enter passwords on public transport without the fear of unauthorised viewing.

Samsung’s new privacy initiative aims to safeguard users’ personal information while they use their phones in public areas. As smartphones increasingly reflect individual routines and preferences, concerns regarding privacy are escalating. Samsung’s upcoming solution will offer another level of privacy, allowing users to safely view messages and enter private information like passwords without worrying about being seen by anyone nearby, including on buses and in lifts.

Samsung stated that the new security function lets individuals change their privacy settings to fit their needs. It lets you make your phone more private by using certain apps or entering sensitive information “for more private areas of your phone”. This gives consumers discretion over who can see their personal information. Instead of using a one-size-fits-all solution, this customised method allows users to protect certain aspects, such as notification pop-ups, through adjustable settings.

The company noted in a blog post that it took more than five years to build this function and that it involved a lot of engineering, testing, and tweaking. Researchers looked at how people used their phones and what they thought about privacy to figure out how to make security a part of everyday life. The result is a complex mix of hardware and software that works together to keep users safe without getting in the way of their experience.

The announcement talks about Samsung’s newest security features for Galaxy smartphones and stresses how important it is to have robust security to protect privacy. It exhibits how long Samsung Knox has been dedicated to protection through many levels, such as Knox Vault, a dedicated security hardware, and Knox Matrix, an ecosystem defence. The new protection goes much farther in keeping this promise by giving consumers privacy at the pixel level and promising both visual privacy and real security. The company said that the feature will soon be available for Galaxy devices, which suggests that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a privacy screen feature that has been leaked many times.
