Oppo’s massive popularity in the midrange TWS segment comes from its versatile Enco Air series. Over the year, these earbuds have provided a good mix of features without compromising essential aspects like soundstage and form factor. The latest iteration in the series, Enco Air5 Pro, promises more of the same. We spent a week with these earbuds, using them for tasks like calling, gaming, and, of course, listening to music. Here is our in-depth review of the Oppo Enco Air5 Pro.

Oppo Enco Air5 Pro Review: Design
Box Contents
- Charging case with earbuds inside
- S and L ear tips
- User guide
The Enco Air5 Pro follows the design language of its predecessor. The pebble-shaped charging case has a compact form factor, which makes it easy to slide into pockets. The matte finish on the plastic body lends it a nice in-hand feel and keeps fingerprints at bay. The construction of the case inspires confidence. The hinge feels strong and durable.
The lid snaps open with just one finger, and the wireless earbuds are magnetically locked into place, refusing to get dislodged easily. The Oppo lettering is embossed on the front panel, right below the lid. The LED notification light is placed further down. The USB-C port is positioned at the bottom of the case.
The earbuds follow the traditional in-ear design and offer a snug, comfortable fit. There are small and large ear tips inside the box to suit all ear sizes. The matte finish on the earbuds extends to the inner section that goes inside the ear. This keeps them firmly in place, even when they are exposed to sweat. The indented section on the stem is touch-sensitive. Oppo has done a good job of tuning these earbuds to reject accidental touches.
The Enco Air5 Pro earbuds are rated IP55 for protection against dust and water. We wore the earbuds while running and working out. They remained unfazed by sweat. You can wear them in light rainfall without worrying about water-related damage.
Oppo Enco Air5 Pro Review: Performance
The Enco Air5 Pro supports Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair. As soon as you open the lid, a pop-up appears on your device, prompting you to connect to the TWS and save it on your account. You also get the upgraded Bluetooth 6.0 on these earbuds. There are 3 audio codecs on offer – SBC, AAC, and LHDC 5.0 (accessible via the HeyMelody app).
Each earbud is equipped with a 12mm titanium-coated diaphragm driver. The resulting audio output is clear and enjoyable. The Enco Air5 Pro deviates from the relatively balanced soundstage offered by its predecessors to give more attention to the low end. While bassheads may appreciate this change, users who are looking for a close-to-neutral sounstage will certainly notice the ever-so-slightly muffled mids. For casual users, the new soundstage would be more enjoyable.
We played a mix of different genres, including pop, post-punk, and heavy metal, during our week with the Oppo Enco Air5 Pro. The earbuds delivered a versatile performance, handling the glossy, bubblegum bass in pop mixes and relaying crisp guitar riffs in rock and metal numbers. You don’t need to tweak the equaliser profile to get the desired output, although the HeyMelody app offers that option to enthusiasts who care about every minute detail.
Apart from a wide and lush stage, the Enco Air5 Pro also offers efficient noise cancellation. The earbuds can nullify up to 55dB of surrounding sounds, including ceiling fans, chirping birds, keystrokes, and general humdrum. In outdoor conditions, they can greatly minimise harsh engine and traffic noises. The triple mic setup comes alive on calls and extracts your voice from the background sounds. You can get your voice through to the listener even in winds of up to 25km/h. We were quite happy with the call quality in indoor and outdoor conditions.
The handy Game Mode automatically drops the latency as soon as you enter a game. The audio feed is synced perfectly with the on-screen action. You can enable ‘Enhanced sound effects’ to boost the audio quality of gunshots and footsteps. ‘AI Translate’ is one of the underrated features on offer here. It facilitates live and face-to-face translation, feeding you the translated speech directly into your ears. With multi-point connectivity, you can pair this TWS with 2 devices and switch between them seamlessly.
Oppo claims a battery life of 13 hours on a full charge (with ANC turned off). The case can store enough charge to last another 41 hours. With ANC turned on, you can get up to 6 hours of battery life on a single session. The charging case extends it to 29 hours. If you’re a casual user, you can go over a week without needing to charge these earbuds.

Final Thoughts
The Oppo Enco Air5 Pro are one of the best TWS you can buy under Rs 5,000. Its rich, wide, and vibrant soundstage appeals to users who don’t care about a neutral tone as long as the overall mix sounds fun. The audio output remains clear even when you push the volume to its maximum level. While most earbuds make soundstage their defining feature, the Enco Air5 Pro go a step further and deliver segment-defining ANC. You can wear these earbuds outside and maintain a calm head by tuning out the traffic sounds. The noise cancellation chops of this TWS are also reflected in call quality. Features like Bluetooth 6.0, LHDC codec, AI Translate, and Game Mode further sweeten the deal.
