Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8 and Flip 8 smartphones have recorded record pre-orders in India within 72 hours of their introduction on July 22, compared to 15 days for the previous generation. Interestingly, 45% of these pre-orders were from Tier 2 cities and below, indicating a developing market. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is priced at Rs 199,999, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at Rs 179,999 and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 at Rs 124,999.
Samsung’s 8th-generation foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, have touched new milestones in India with record-breaking pre-orders. The South Korean tech giant has crossed 271,000 pre-orders within 72 hours of its introduction on July 22. That’s a considerable increase from the 15-day pre-order period it had last year for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. And on top of that, 45% of these pre-orders came from tier 2 cities and beyond, indicating an increased use of foldable devices by customers outside of major metropolitan hubs.
Samsung said the jump in pre-orders demonstrated a major change in consumer preferences and the increasing potential of foldable technology in the wider market. Samsung is trying to match the number of pre-orders it received for the S26 series launched earlier this year, indicating a high level of confidence in the future of foldable smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is available in four colour options: cream, graphite, Violet Shadow, and Green Shadow. The price in India begins at Rs 1,99,999 for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Whereas the higher-end configurations are available in 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, priced at Rs 2,19,999. Lastly, the 16GB RAM with 1TB storage will come with a price tag of Rs 2,59,999.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at Rs 1,79,999 for the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. The 12GB RAM with 512GB variant costs Rs 1,99,999, and the 16GB RAM with 1TB storage will be available at Rs 2,39,999. The foldable comes in graphite, cream, and lavender colour options.

Samsung Galaxy Flip 8 base model is now available in India at Rs 1,24,999 for the 12GB RAM, 256GB storage option and Rs 1,24,999 for the 12GB RAM, 256GB storage option. The phone is offered in cream, graphite, mint, and pink colour options. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is available for pre-order in India through the Samsung online store.
Samsung also offers an attractive financing option, a 30-month EMI plan with no down payment and no cost, which makes it more affordable for consumers.
