Reliance Jio announced eSIM service support for Motorola Razr

Earlier this week Motorola launched its most awaited clamshell designed foldable phone in India. The company launched Motorola Razr, which is the redesigned variant of iconic Moto Razr Flip from 2004. The device is now available for pre-bookings. Now the Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio has announced eSIM support for Motorola’s foldable phone.

The eSIM service is a new concept in India. Not many telecom operators in the country provide eSIM service However Reliance Jio Ha now announced eSIM service support to the all-new Motorola Razr. According to the company, Jio’s eSIM service will allow the users to make and receive calls, use data and applications on the Jio network, without a physical SIM card. The existing customers will now be able to make use of the service at no additional cost. eSIM enables seamless device setup experience, without the need to insert or replace a physical SIM card.

Motorola Razr users on the Jio network will get:

  • An additional 1-year of unlimited services absolutely free-of-cost
  • Double data benefits when recharging with the Jio Rs 4,999  annual plan (Get 350 + 350 GB High-speed data without any daily capping + another year of unlimited voice and 700 GB data. This amounts to a saving of Rs 14,997)

The company launched Motorola Razr in a single 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage model at Rs 1,24,999 in the country. The device will be available in a single Noir Black colour option. The pre-booking for the smartphone has now opened and it will go on its first sale in India via e-commerce website Flipkart on April 2.

Motorola Razr Specifications

Motorola Razr features a clamshell-style foldable screen. In a foldable state, it sports a 2.7-inch Quick View display with 600×800 pixels of resolution. The other display allows you to check notifications, access Google Assistant, control music as well as take selfies. When unfolded it features a 6.2-inch flexible OLED HD+ display with 876×2142 pixels of resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB non-expandable storage.

In terms of imaging, you get a single primary camera with a 16-megapixel sensor and  f/1.7 aperture which has been given on the outer body above the Quick View display. It can also be used for taking selfies even when the device is folded. The company has also provided a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the main display.

The Motorola Razr does not include a headphone jack so the company has provided a headset from Denon. It packs a 2,510mAh battery that comes with a 15W TurboPower fast-charging support.
