How to customise the Action button on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max?

This button is only available on the Pro models this year and will likely be extended to the non-Pro models in the iPhone 16 series. By default, this button toggles between the silent and ringing profiles just like the mute switch that it replaces. Step 1: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max.

  • Toggle between mute and loud sound profiles (default option).
  • Launch the camera app. You can further decide whether you the Action button to open the Camera app on Photo, Selfie, Video, Portrait, or Portrait Selfie mode.
  • Turn on and disable the Focus Mode.
  • Toggle the Flashlight on and off.
  • Launch the Voice memo and start or stop recording a memo.

  • Access an Accessibility setting – vision, motor, hearing, and general.
  • Launch a custom shortcut. You can program a shortcut to launch a specific app every time the Action button is pressed.
