The instant messaging Snapchat has introduced a new advertising option called Sponsored AR filters. Snap Inc will allow advertisers to create branded augmented reality filters on Snapchat such as countdown timers, AR face filters, location-based overlays, quiz generators and more.
Snapchat now lets advertisers create filters using templates as it has recently launched “Sponsored AR filters”, a new advertising option on its platform. The Brands now can sponsor augmented reality (AR) filters which the app users may add to their posts.

Snap Inc. via a blog post said, “Today, we’re launching Sponsored AR Filters on Snapchat, a new augmented reality (AR) ad offering that expands brands’ reach beyond the pre-capture Lens Carousel. This ad placement occurs after Snapchatters capture their content with the Snapchat Camera, accessible by swiping to the post-capture Filter Carousel. With over 5 billion Snaps created every day, brands can now join in on even more shareable moments and truly own the Snapchat Camera experience from end to end.”
Users can add brand overlays for photos created by firms, after they capture a picture but before they press submit and they can even lead to advertising campaigns. Advertisers will be able to upload existing assets and build Filters from a variety of tried-and-true templates including AR face Filters, location-based overlays, countdown timers, quiz generators, and more.
