Every year, Google holds an event to introduce its newest Pixel lineup of smartphones in October. Nevertheless, this year, the tech behemoth broke with its customary October release and held an early unveiling in August for its newest Pixel family members. During a hardware launch event today, Google unveiled its Pixel 9 family of smartphones, which includes the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Notably, the first foldable smartphone did not make it to India, therefore the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the first to launch here.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Specifications
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will compete with the OnePlus Open and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. It flaunts an 8-inch LTPO OLED Super Actua main display and a 6.3-inch OLED Actua cover screen. Both the panels come with a 120Hz refresh rate, support up to 2,700nits peak brightness and have Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It draws its power from the Tensor G4 chip paired with a Titan M2 security chip with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Pixel fold phone operates on Android 14 out-of-the-box. As per the company, the device will receive seven years of Android OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.
There are three cameras on the external side of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold: a 48MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.7 aperture, a 10.5MP ultra-wide angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and autofocus, and a 10.8MP telephoto camera with a 20x Super Res Zoom, an f/3.1 aperture, and an optical zoom of up to 5x. A 10MP camera with a f.2.2 aperture is located on the cover display, and a similar 10MP camera is located on the interior screen.
Aside from this, the 9 Pro Fold stands out for having a built-in VPN and a tonne of AI capabilities like Face Unblur, Top Shot, More Faces, Made You Look, Video Boost, Wind Noise Reduction, Add Me, Hands-free astrophotography, and Audio Magic Eraser.

There are multiple connectivity options available with the 9 Pro Fold: USB 3.2 Type-C, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi 7, 4G LTE, 5G, and Bluetooth 5.3. An accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, proximity, ambient light, and e-compass are among the sensors it has. With a Qi wireless charger or a 45W PPS charger, you may charge its 4,650mAh battery. It bears an IPX8 water-resistant rating and facilitates face and fingerprint biometric verification.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Price in India, Sale Details
In India, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold with a single 16GB RAM with 256GB storage option will cost Rs 1,72,999. There will be two colour options for the foldable phone: porcelain and obsidian. Starting on August 22, the foldable may be purchased from Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital stores. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also sold to customers through Google-owned walk-in centres in Bengaluru and Delhi; a third location will open in Mumbai soon. It should be noted that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with 256GB of internal storage in India, but users in the US and other countries can also choose to purchase a 512GB model.
