HMD Skyline with repairable design launched in India

The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.

HMD has expanded its portfolio in India with the launch of a new smartphone HMD Skyline. Before arriving in the Indian market the handset made its debut in the European market in July this year. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and runs on Android 14. It features a 144Hz OLED display and a 108-megapixel main camera. It has a repairable design simplifying at-home repairs.

HMD Skyline price in India, availability

The price of the HMD Skyline is set at Rs 35,999 for a single 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. The device will be available in Twisted Black and Neon Pink colour options. It is scheduled to go on sale tomorrow via Amazon.in, HMD.com and at retail stores in the country.

HMD Skyline features a 6.55-inch full-HD+ pOLED screen with 1,080 x 2,400 pixels of resolution. The display supports a refresh rate of 144Hz and up to 1000 nits peak brightness. Along with a 20:9 aspect ratio the panel is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The HMD Skyline includes Gen2 Repairability, which simplifies at-home repairs by opening the rear cover with a single screw.

Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset paired with 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. It operates on Android 14 out of the box with 2 years of OS upgrades and 3 years of security upgrades.

For the photos and videos, it includes a triple rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor. Upfront there is a 50-megapixel selfie camera. It also includes features like the all-new Capture Fusion, 4x Optical Zoom, Selfie Gestures and Portrait Mode for stunning 50mm shots with natural bokeh.

HMD Skyline houses a 4,600mAh battery with 33W wired charging support. According to the company, the battery lasts up to 48 hours per charge and is also easily replaceable thanks to its unique design. It maintains at least 80% of its original capacity after 800 full charging cycles and supports wireless charging with any magnetised Qi2 charger.
