Following Android, iOS users can now use the Gmail Q&A AI feature

The paid feature is only available to Google Workspace users.

Google Workspace users may now utilise Gmail Q&A, an AI function that lets them ask questions about their emails. The capability was initially featured in the platform’s online version before being extended to the Android app in August. It will soon be available for iOS devices and may be accessed via the app’s sparkle icon. Gmail Q&A offers various features such as answering specific email questions, displaying unread or sender messages, summarising emails, and answering general search questions from within your inbox, all without leaving your inbox.

Google has unveiled the Gmail Q&A on iOS devices, exclusive to Google Workspace users, allowing them to ask Gemini questions about their inbox. This function is only available to Android users who have an eligible subscription. The Gmail Q&A feature enables users to talk with the Gemini-powered chatbot, ask specific questions about their emails, see unread messages, view emails from a certain sender, summarise emails on common themes, and search for ambiguous details in specific emails.

The company via blog post said, “Last month, we introduced a new way of searching your inbox with Gemini on Android devices. Starting today, this feature is also available on iOS devices, enabling you to ask Gemini questions about your inbox.”

To access Gmail Q&A on Android, users need smart features and personalization enabled. Admins can set default settings in the Admin console. End users can open Gemini in the Gmail app via the black Gemini star or “summarize this email” chip. Gmail Q&A can find information from Inbox and Drive but is currently available in English only. Visit the Help Center for more information about Gemini in Gmail.

To utilise the capability, users must have a Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium subscription. The feature is accessible for both iOS and Android. The functionality is already being rolled out, although it might take more than a week for users to see it on the Gmail app.
