Western Digital introduces redesigned My Passport Ultra Drives in India

Western Digital (WD), which is famous for creating astonishing storage solutions, has recently launched the new, redesigned My Passport Ultra portable hard drives in India. The My Passport Ultra portable hard drives are available in four colours: Classic Black, Brilliant White, Wild Berry and Noble Blue.

Khalid Wani, Director, Content Solutions Business for WD in India, Middle East, and Africa, said, “With more data being stored than ever before, it’s critical to have a reliable external storage solution that you can carry everywhere.” He also said, “The latest generation My Passport Ultra drives deliver an easier automatic back-up experience and hardware-based encryption for security.”

My Passport Ultra portable drives have 2 TB and 1 TB storage capacities. It features a 256-bit AES hardware encryption that helps in delivering a high level of security with no impact to write-speed or CPU activity. If the portable hard drive falls into the wrong hands, the 256-bit AES hardware encryption protects them. With this feature the files, folders, photos, videos and music are password protected and can be opened only with the password set by the owner of the drive.

This device has a compatible USB 3.0, which provides fast data transfer rates of up to 5 gigabits per second, while being backwardly compatible with USB 2.0. My Passport Ultra drives have and in built WD Backup software, which is a simple application that helps in setting up a backup plan to preserve data.

My Passport Ultra drives are priced at Rs 4,750 for 1TB and Rs 7,550 for 2TB. It also offers a 3-year limited regional warranty.
