Nikon Z50II mirrorless camera featuring 4K video capture launched in India

The camera is great for content creation.

Nikon India has launched the APS-C Nikon Z50II mirrorless camera, which is geared at content makers, vloggers, and streamers of all skill levels. The camera is meant to provide high-quality video footage, including 4K video capture from 5.6K oversampling and AI-powered portrait improvements.

The Z50II camera uses an EXPEED 7 image-processing engine inherited from Nikon’s Z9, which enables 4K video quality and N-Log video with RED LUTS for rich tone gradation. It also has AI-powered features such as Skin Softening and Portrait Impression Balance, which provide professional-quality images with minimum post-production.

This mirrorless camera is the first in the Z Series to include a product review mode that focuses on foreground objects, as well as a video self-timer. This makes the editing process easier by recording superfluous content in advance. It is useful for reviewing videos and vlogs. The camera also supports USB streaming, which allows users to give good photos for online meetings and live video streaming by connecting it to a computer or smartphone.

The Z50II camera has an advanced auto-focusing system , 9-type subject detection, and the Pre-Release Capture mode, which allows photographs to buffer for up to one second before the shutter release button is completely hit. This function is only accessible in High-Speed Frame Capture mode, allowing for continuous shooting at 30 frames per second. The Auto-Area AF function, which adjusts the AF mode in response to subject movement and composition changes, has been considerably enhanced, allowing the camera to focus on the intended subject without making any modifications, even while capturing unexpected subjects like dogs and youngsters.

Nikon’s EXPEED 7 image processor and deep learning technologies allow new photographers to use AUTO mode, which analyses subjects and scenarios and automatically optimises autofocus, flash, and exposure settings. This makes it simple to capture photographs that are specific to the scenario, such as blurred backgrounds for portraits or sharp, clear shots with little subject blur.

The Z50II’s EVF is the brightest in its class, with 1000 cd/m2, and twice as bright as the Nikon Z50. This enables simple focus and detail checks, even in bright situations. It minimises the brightness difference between the viewfinder display and the naked eye, making it simpler to capture the ideal image and decreasing eye strain and tiredness while shooting. The bright EVF enhances the unique experience of shooting through a camera viewfinder by allowing users to focus on the subject and scene.

The Nikon Z50II is the first APS-C camera to integrate Imaging Recipe and Picture Control, enabling users to build their own visual styles via the Nikon Imaging Cloud. Users may store customised tweaks to colour, brightness, and contrast as custom recipes and download colour presets curated by pros for smooth working.

Nikon India has released the MC-DC3 Remote Cord, a remote cord compatible with the Z50II camera. This cord helps minimise camera shake effects when using a tripod and allows for remote photography to release the shutter at a distance. The shutter-release button can be locked for long exposures, held down for continuous shooting, or held halfway down for less release time-lag.

The Nikon Z50II body and MC-DC3 Remote Cord will be available in India by the end of November 2024 for INR 77,995.00 (body only). Kit combinations include the Z50II with NIKKOR 16-50MM, 16-50MM + 50-250MM VR, and Z50II with NIKKOR Z DX 18-140MM F/3.5-6.3 VR.
