UNESCO, TED, Khan Academy, and other organisations are already partners of Google.

To provide Indian students with educational content, YouTube has teamed up with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). As part of the collaboration, additional channels with information geared towards first- through twelve-grade kids will be launched. Additionally, YouTube and the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) will work together to make accredited courses accessible. Through YouTube, NPTEL currently offers 50 certified courses in India. UNESCO, TED, Khan Academy, and other organisations are already partners of Google.

Google’s blog post states that YouTube and India’s National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) are collaborating to deliver high-quality education to rural areas. NCERT will start YouTube channels for grades 1–12 that cover 29 Indian languages, including Indian Sign Language. These channels will empower teachers, parents, and students by providing interesting and easily available instructional content.

Additionally, YouTube and the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEEL) are collaborating to provide 50 credentialed courses across various subjects. Anyone outside of the IIT system can take a course on NPTEL’s YouTube channels, finish the online certification on the NPTEL-SWAYAM portal, and then get a certificate from the IITs thanks to this effort. The upcoming months will see the introduction of additional courses.

According to the company its main goal is to enable partners and learning creators to provide structured learning experiences by providing active learning features and products. To assist developers in providing structured learning experiences, Courses were introduced in India in 2022. Key Concepts, which employ AI to recognise and define concepts spoken in videos on topics like biology, physics, and chemistry, are part of the company’s expanding focus this year. To do this, the video’s metadata and transcript are used to surface terminology and images from Google’s Knowledge Graph.

In order to help students apply what they have learnt, YouTube has included quizzes that let creators test their knowledge in their community posts. This enables maths creators to pose queries to viewers about their most recent videos. YouTube Player for Education is a product made for students that enhances the way YouTube videos appear in well-known teaching resources. The player is integrated into the tools of edtech firms like Quizizz and Teachmint as well as partners like Google Classroom, and it is utilised in schools all around the world.
