YouTube “Community” tab renamed to “Posts”; the feature expanded to more creators

This feature was first announced a few months back at the Made on YouTube 2024 event.

In an effort to boost interaction between creators and subscribers, YouTube has extended its Communities feature to include additional creators. The “Community” tab on YouTube has been changed to the “Posts” tab. Other social media sites like Reddit and Discord are no longer necessary thanks to the feature, which enables users to communicate with channel owners and reply to messages. Emails and channel page banners will be used to invite creators.

At the Made by YouTube 2024 event, YouTube’s Communities feature first came to light as a dedicated space for boosting interaction between subscribers and creators. More creators will now have access to the capabilities as the video streaming platform “wanted to make sure everyone has all the info on this exciting update.” A limited number of creators have given YouTube positive feedback, which has sparked enthusiasm for additional Community access expansion.

Communities are mobile-only platforms where viewers and creators may establish connections, share updates, and start and join conversations. While creators have control over who engage in their communities, channel owners and viewers can have two-way conversations through the creation and sharing of posts.

Furthermore, YouTube has chosen to rename the “Community” option to the “Posts” tab. According to the company, the newly designated tab will remain operational under a new name, enabling creators to disseminate announcements and updates via posts and viewers to interact through comments.

Note that a mobile banner and email alerts will be sent to Creators who are invited to enable their Communities. They can access their channel pages and tap “Go to Community” to learn more and decide to activate their Communities.
