As we step into 2025, Android OEMs are lining up their budget smartphones releases in India. We’ve already seen the likes of Redmi and Poco put out solid entry-level devices this month. OnePlus, Samsung, Vivo, and other heavyweights will follow suit in the coming months. If you’re thinking of buying a new smartphone within a moderate budget, here are the upcoming releases that you need to keep an eye out for.

Infinix Smart 9 HD
The entry-level Infinix Smart 9 HD is expected to launch in India this week. The smartphone will flaunt a 6.7-inch IPS panel with a 90Hz refresh and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The MediaTek Helio octa-core processor will power the smartphone. Infinix will likely launch the smartphone in 2 RAM configurations – 3GB and 4GB. Both models will have a 64GB internal storage capacity. The smartphone’s rear camera array will house a 13MP primary shooter and a 0.03MP auxiliary lens. The 5,000mAh battery will support 10W charging.
Redmi 14
After launching the Note 14 Series, Redmi will focus its attention on its budget offerings. Last year, the Redmi 13 impressed us with its brilliant camera and photography experience. Its successor, Redmi 14, will look to carry forward that performance. While Redmi 13 was launched in India in July last year, we could see Redmi 14 make its debut as early as May. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 4 Series processor. It will retain the 108MP primary shooter from its predecessor. Android 15-based HyperOS 2 will handle the OS duties.
Vivo T4
Vivo’s T series smartphones cover several price points in the budget and midrange smartphone segments. The current Vivo T3 series comprises 5 models – T3, T3x, T3 Lite, T3 Pro, and T3 Ultra. These smartphones are priced between Rs 10,500 – Rs 30,000. This year, the first Vivo T4 Series smartphone will be launched in March. The base model will be priced between Rs 20,000 – Rs 25,000. It is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. Software duties will be handled by the Android 14-based Funtouch OS 15. After the launch of the base model, Vivo will launch the T4x and T4 Lite variants, which will cost around Rs 12,000.
iQOO Z10
iQOO’s Z series competes in the same segments as its sister brand’s T Series. 4 smartphones make up the current iQOO Z9 series – Z9, Z9 Lite, Z9x, and Z9s. The iQOO Z10 series is expected to feature 4 models – Z10, Z10x, Z10 Turbo, and Z10 Turbo Pro. The first two models in the series will fall in the Rs 10,000 – Rs 20,000 price bracket. The base model will mirror the specs of the Vivo T4. It is expected to be powered by the MediaTek 7300 SoC. The smartphone will have a 5,000mAh battery and a dual camera setup.
OnePlus Nord CE5 Lite
OnePlus Nord CE5 Lite will be the successor to the company’s most affordable smartphone in India – Nord CE4 Lite. It is one of the highly anticipated upcoming smartphones. The OnePlus Nord CE5 Lite is expected to launch in April 2025. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 6 or 7 series processor. It will feature an AMOLED display and a 50MP primary shooter. This year, OnePlus may finally offer an ultrawide camera on its most affordable smartphone. Software duties will be handled by the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15. The smartphone will likely pack a 6,000mAh Si/C battery and support 80W charging.
Samsung Galaxy M16
Samsung’s big battery specialist, Galaxy M16, is expected to launch in India in April. The smartphone will pack a massive 6,000mAh battery under its hood. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will choose its in-house Exynos processor or a MediaTek chipset for this device. The 6.6-inch AMOLED display will also be one of the major highlights of the smartphone. The rear camera layout will likely feature a 50MP primary shooter, a depth sensor, and a macro camera. OS duties on the smartphone will be handled by the Android 15-based One UI 7. We expect the smartphone to cost around Rs 15,000.
Motorola Moto G05
The Moto G05 has gone on sale in India today. The smartphone is available in a 4GB RAM + 64GB configuration and 2 colour variants – Plum Red and Forest Green. It flaunts a soft-touch eco-leather back and a 6.67-inch LCD panel. This display has a 90Hz refresh rate. One of the great things about Moto G05 is that it comes with Android 15 out of the box. This is rare in entry-level smartphones as most devices in this price range are still rolling out with Android 14. The G05 is powered by MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme chipset. The smartphone rocks a 50MP primary shooter and an 8MP selfie camera.
