While Samsung will be unveiling its flagship series, brands like Oppo and Realme will bolster their midrange catalogues. If you’re in the market for a new phone, you will certainly be spoilt for choice. Here are all the upcoming smartphones in January 2026.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung will kick off the new year with the launch of its new flagship series in January. The company will stick to its tradition of releasing three smartphones in its flagship lineup – Base, Plus, and Ultra. The non-Ultra models will be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 SoC. The top-spec Ultra model will likely run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Software duties will be handled by the latest Android 16-based One UI 8. The top-spec Ultra variant will rock a 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with the brightness maxing out at 2,600 nits. There will be a battery upgrade too, but it is unlikely that the smartphones use Si/C units. More details are awaited as we get closer to launch.

Realme 16 Pro Series
The Realme 16 Pro series will make its debut today. January 6. It will comprise a Pro model and a Pro+ variant. The former will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max chipset, while the latter will run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. Both smartphones will rock 120Hz AMOLED displays with a peak brightness of 6,500 nits. Their triple camera islands will feature a 200MP primary shooter. The Pro+ will also get a 50MP telephoto lens. There will be IP66/68/69K protection on both devices. The 7,000mAh battery pack will support 80W wired fast charging.

Redmi Note 15 Series
The Redmi Note 15 Series will also make its debut on January 6. Its lineup will feature 3 variants – Base, Pro, and Pro+. The base model will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. Its rear camera panel will feature a 108MP primary shooter. The 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display will have a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,200 nits of peak brightness. The 5,520mAh battery pack will support 45W wired fast charging. There will be IP66 protection on board. The specs of the Pro and Pro+ models will be revealed upon launch.

Oppo Reno15 Series
After launching its flagship series at the tail end of 2025, Oppo will expand its midrange catalogue in January 2025. The Reno15 Series will feature 3 variants – Base, Pro, and Pro Mini. The 2 Pro variants will rock a 200MP primary shooter in their camera setups. Alongside this main sensor, the two smartphones will feature a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide lens with a 100-degree field of view. Oppo has also revealed that it will use the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset on these smartphones. The 6,500mAh battery pack will support fast charging.

Realme GT 8
Realme’s flagship offering, GT 8 Pro, hit the stores in November 2025. The smartphone brand will expand the series with the launch of a base model this month. The vanilla Realme GT 8 will flaunt a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 7,000 nits. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The rear camera array will comprise a 50MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. The 7,000mAh battery pack will support 100W fast charging.

Poco M8
Poco’s M series lineup will be refreshed with two new models this week. The base model is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC. Its 6.77-inch AMOLED display will have a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Despite its 5,520mAh battery, it will be just 7.35mm thick. The rear camera panel will feature a 50MP primary shooter. The Pro model will get a 108MP main sensor. There will be support for 45W fast wired charging.

Poco X8 Pro

The upcoming Poco X8 series will not feature a base model this year. Instead, it will comprise Pro and Pro Max variants. The X8 Pro recently bagged BIS certification in India, hinting at an imminent launch. It is rumoured to get a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. Poco could use the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset to power this device. Software duties will be handled by the Android 16-based HyperOS 3. A massive 6,500mAh Si/C battery pack is expected on this device. It will support 100W fast wired charging.

Final Thoughts
These are all the upcoming smartphones slated for a January 2026 release. The OnePlus Turbo 6 series is also expected to go on sale in China this month, but the possibility of an international launch is uncertain at this point.
