An Instagram blend is a feed of Reels that you and your friends share in common. When you create a blend, Instagram creates a common feed of Reels that are suggested to you and your friends. Each Reel displays the name of the user to whom it was suggested. While most of the Reels in a blend are shared in common among all parties, Instagram also throws in some content that is exclusively picked from an individual member’s feed.
If you don’t want a certain Reel to appear in a blend, you can choose to remove it. The only catch is that it will be removed from all the blends that you are a part of. You can interact with the Reels on a blend using emojis and messages. These messages and emoji reactions show up in the chat along with Reel. Instagram updates blends with new content every day.
Create an Instagram Reels blend with your friends
Step 1: Launch the Instagram app and swipe left to go to your DMs.
Step 2: Open a chat with a friend or a group.
Step 3: Tap the Blend icon at the top of the screen. If you don’t view the icon, open a Reel in the chat and tap on Start a blend.
Step 4: Hit Invite.
Step 5: When your friend accepts the invite, tap on Go to blend. Alternatively, you can tap the Blend icon at the top of the screen to view it.
Step 6: To remove a specific Reel that’s suggested to you from a blend, tap the ellipses in the bottom right corner of the screen and select Remove reel from your blends. The Reel will be removed from all your blends.
Step 7: To leave a blend, hit the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen and tap on Leave this blend.
