A Crossbow is a weapon in Minecraft that fires arrows in a projectile, just like its real-world counterpart. There are many instances within the game wherein combating enemies with your bare hands is not enough. You may have to fight the Ender Dragon or the Wither which can fly. Hence, you are provided with supporting tools like the Crossbow which you can equip yourself with to win the battle. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make a Crossbow in Minecraft in 2022.
The Crossbow tool is supported on Minecraft’s Java Edition 1.14, Windows 10 Edition 1.10.0, Education Edition 1.12.0, Pocket Edition 1.10.0, Xbox One 1.10.0 and PS4 1.90 onwards. For making a Crossbow in Minecraft, you should be ready with 1 Iron Ingot, 2 Strings, 3 Sticks and 1 Tripwire Hook in your Inventory.

Step 1: Open the Crafting Menu. You will be presented with a 3×3 crafting grid on the screen.
Step 2: Arrange the items in the crafting grid. Each item must be placed in the grid in the exact positions as shown below. In the first row, there should be 2 Sticks placed in the first and third blocks with the Iron Ingot placed between them in the centre. In the second row, there should be 2 Strings in the first and third box with the Tripwire Hook placed between them in the centre. In the third row, in the centre box, you have to place the third Stick, leaving the first and third boxes empty. This is the recipe for crafting a Crossbow in Minecraft.
Step 3: Once the crafting area has been filled with the stated ingredients in the pattern given above, a Crossbow will appear in the box on the right of the 3×3 crafting grid. Now, all that’s left to be done is dragging the Crossbow and dropping it into your Inventory. That’s it!

The Attack Damage of a Crossbow in Minecraft varies while its Durability is 326 attacks. Moreover, you can further use a Crossbow to make an Enchanted Crossbow. You can also ‘Enchant’ a Crossbow with several Enchantments. The Curse of Vanishing will make it disappear after the player dies, Mending will mend it using XP, Multishot will shoot 3 arrows at once but only costs 1 arrow from your Inventory, Piercing allows it to pierce through multiple entities, Quick charge reduces the amount of time taken to reload a Crossbow while Unbreaking increases its durability.
