How to send files using Quick Share? (2024)

Google has renamed Android’s ‘Nearby Share’ feature to ‘Quick Share’ and started rolling it out to selected devices. You may remember Quick Share as Samsung’s file-sharing feature. You can use it to send files among Android, Windows, and ChromeOS devices. If you’re accustomed to Nearby Share, it won’t take you any time to adapt to the new feature. Today, we show you how to send files using Quick Share.

Before you begin

Here are the requirements your devices need to meet before using Quick Share:

  • The two devices must be within 5 metres (16 feet) of each other.
  • Both devices must have Bluetooth and WiFi enabled.
  • The devices should be running Android 6+, ChromeOS 91+, and 64-bit Windows 10+.
  • ARM devices are not supported by Quick Share.

Here’s how you can send files using Quick Share

Step 1: Open the file you want to share and hit the Share icon at the bottom of the screen.
