Apple Leak Confirms Four iPhone 16 Models With Same A18 Chip

This will be big if all the models of new iPhone will have the latest chipset.

Key Highlights:

  • All four iPhone 16 models will share the same A18 chip.
  • A leak was revealed by Nicolás Alvarez and reported by MacRumors.
  • The new identifier scheme confirms a unified chip for the upcoming models.

Apple plans to release four iPhone 16 models this year, all equipped with the same Apple A18 chip, according to a recent leak. The discovery, made by Nicolás Alvarez and shared with MacRumors, unveils new model numbers consistent with Apple’s flagship devices.

For the last two iPhone cycles, Apple differentiated its Pro and standard models with different chips. However, this practice seems to end with the iPhone 16, where all models are expected to feature the same A18 silicon, enhancing performance uniformity across the lineup.

The leaked code, which includes identifiers like iPhone17,1 to iPhone17,5, suggests that Apple is aligning its models under a single-chip architecture. This move is likely aimed at ensuring all future devices support the advanced AI features in iOS 18, currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.

While there are five model numbers listed, the fifth is speculated to be a future iPhone SE, yet its details remain uncertain. This shift to a unified chip could streamline Apple’s production and ensure a consistent user experience across all iPhone 16 models.
