Siri 2.0 (codename: Campo) might be re-imagined as an AI chatbot companion. It is also anticipated to have better on-screen and app control, with the ability to perform multi-step commands, depending on what is shown on the device’s screen, with functions applying to both default and third-party apps. There’s a new Search or Ask typing-first interface that lets users change between Apple and third-party AI models, including Gemini and Claude. Unlike previous releases, iOS 27 is looking to provide major optimisation, with speed, stability and battery life getting the boost rather than a radical makeover. Speculation is that generative background expansion and automated tools for Reframe and Enhance will ship with AI image tools.
