Our Take

Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which had a 6.7-inch panel, the iPhone 16 Pro Max boasts a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR panel. Both screens have 2000 nits of peak brightness and enable Apple’s ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate.

The A17 Pro in the iPhone 15 Pro Max was replaced with the A18 Pro with 16-core Neural Engine in the 16 Pro Max, which performs 20% better on the GPU and 15% quicker on CPU activities like gaming, multitasking and AI features.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 48MP ultra-wide lens for improved detail in landscape and macro images, as opposed to the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 12MP lens. The sensor also improves low-light shooting using Apple’s machine-learning-based image processing. The 48MP primary camera supports 2x 12MP pictures with optical quality cropping.

In terms of video recording, the iPhone 16 Pro Max performs better than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It can record 4K video at 120 frames per second in both regular and slow-motion modes, and it lets users choose the playback speed after it has been captured.

Now that the iPhone 16 Pro Max includes a Camera Control button under the power button, users may adjust camera parameters including exposure, aperture, zooming, and launching. To lock focus on a subject, lightly push the button as well. For speedy access to data, Camera Control activates Apple’s Visual Intelligence feature, which functions similarly to Google Lens. While the iPhone 15 Pro Max does not have this capability, it does include an Action Button for the camera and other features.
