Finalists for Doodle for Google 2022 revealed

On November 14, Google India's homepage will highlight the national winner.

The 20 finalists in Google’s yearly Doodle For Google competition were announced today. It invited the public to vote online for their favourite doodle in each of the five class-based categories on the publicly accessible website. In the contest, over 100,000 kids from 1450 schools in more than 100 locations across the nation submitted entries with the topic “In the next 25 years, my India will…”

On November 14, 2022, the doodle of the National Winner will be shown on www.google.co.in for 24 hours. The National Winner will additionally receive an INR 500,000 college scholarship, an INR 200,000 technology package for their school or non-profit organisation, a Certificate or Trophy of achievement, Google hardware devices or related products (subject to availability), and enjoyable Google collectibles.

Since 2009, India has hosted the Doodle For Google contest, which asks art-loving youngsters in Classes 1 through 10 to create their own versions of the Google logo and submit imaginative doodles in line with a set contest theme. Google executives and a jury panel made up of influential leaders and creative thinkers from across the nation analyse the submissions.

The judges this year were Abhyudaya Mohan and Gautami Kawale, social influencers and co-founders of Slayypoint; Neena Gupta, a national awardee, actor, filmmaker, producer, and TV personality; Kuriakose Vaisian, a comic book editor, filmmaker, and stand-up comedian; and Alika Bhatt, a creator of art, a teacher, a YouTuber, a speaker at Tedx,

Public online voting for the competition will be available until November 7 (closing at 10 am IST).

Announcing the finalists, Sapna Chadha, Vice President of Marketing, Google India & Southeast Asia said: “These unique doodles are a truly inspiring expression of the dreams and aspirations of the next generation. Spanning crayon, oil and water colour, each artwork is a glimpse into the future through the eyes of young children, demonstrating their insight into India’s national ambitions and a profound awareness of their role in making these a lived reality. We are delighted by the participation in this year’s contest, and thank all participants for their creativity and enthusiasm.”
