Fujifilm India introduced its new filmmaking camera, the “FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55”, during the Broadcast India Show 2025. The camera has a 102-megapixel large format sensor, a 1.7-times bigger GFX 102MP CMOS II HS sensor, and the “X-Processor 5” image processing engine. It enables filmmakers to record rich, lifelike videos while also increasing post-production flexibility. The camera’s exclusive colour reproduction technology allows for more diversified visual expression while also providing rich tonal expression and outstanding image quality.
The filmmaking camera is a compact and lightweight camera intended for small crews and solo filming. It weighs around 2.0 kg and has 3-inch side displays that allow multiple users to change camera settings. The front of the camera and handle include a multi-function dial that controls the focus, zoom, and iris of FUJIFILM GF lenses, with the “ND” option allowing precise adjustment of the density of the electronic variable ND filter. The 5-inch external LCD monitor includes a display with a brightness of up to 2000 nits and numerous adjustable angles for flexible positioning.
The “GFX 102MP CMOS II HS” camera has a 102-megapixel large format sensor, which allows for a variety of visual expressions when using different lenses. It supports five movie formats and can film in a 4:3 open gate format at up to 48 fps. The camera has the world’s first electronic variable ND filter that works with large-format sensors, allowing for fine control and smooth density adjustment during video recording. It also has a new optical low-pass filter designed specifically for its big format sensor, which reduces moiré and false colours. The camera also has “DUAL BASE ISO” with two base sensitivities, ISO 800 and ISO 3200, allowing it to capture clear images with little noise under severe lighting circumstances.
The new filmmaking camera can shoot and edit using its F-Log2 and F-Log2 C 3D-LUTs, which have a dynamic range of 14+ stops. These features provide rich image tone, which increases post-production versatility. The camera also has 20 varieties of “Film Simulation” and 10 Film Simulation conversion 3D-LUTs that are all ITU-R BT.709 compatible, which allows exact colour and tone adjustments to video captured in Log. Users can download up to 16 different 3D-LUTs, including Film Simulation LUTs, from the internet for usage.

The ETERNA 55 camera is a workflow system that can use three Apple ProRes codecs: Apple ProRes 422 HQ, Apple ProRes 422, and Apple ProRes 422 LT. It supports proxy video recording for Apple ProRes, which reduces the video editing effort and streamlines the workflow from filming to post-production. The camera supports 4:2:2 10-bit uncompressed data and up to 8K/30P 12-bit RAW footage over HDMI. It also supports the cloud service “Frame.io Camera to Cloud,” enabling Apple ProRes Proxy files and other video files to be uploaded directly to Frame.io, hence increasing workflow efficiency.
