Google Photos is getting ready to roll out a new AI-driven Wardrobe tool to help users choose their outfits. This capability will start rolling out this summer, starting on Android smartphones before moving to iOS. With this innovation, users will be able to virtually try on garments, helping them digitise their closet. This enables clothes to be mixed and matched without physically wearing them.
Google Photos has added a new function to catalogue clothes so users can mix and match outfits and visually put them on. This enhancement aims to make the outfit picking process easier, especially during hectic periods. The capability will create a digital wardrobe from pictures of clothes users have worn, making it simpler to plan and organise outfits.

As indicated above, the new AI-powered wardrobe function will help organise clothing items in users’ photographs. With this new application, users may curate their wardrobe into a dedicated collection, making it easier to find forgotten apparel. With this feature, users may sort items, like jewellery, tops, and bottoms, making it easier to browse their closet.
Furthermore, the function also enables outfit creation by mixing and matching various pieces for a better style experience. Users may share their clothing combinations with friends or preserve them as digital moodboards, which can be used for certain occasions.

Previously, the company brought a virtual try-on feature which lets users virtually try on billions of clothing items that are listed on the company’s Shopping Graph. This capability is available to users via AI Mode, Google Shopping, Google Images product results, and other listings. Customers may use this function by clicking the “try it on” icon on Google product listings for clothing, which allows them to experiment with different styles and share their looks with others, therefore replicating the fitting room experience virtually.
