Google Photos Moved the ‘Locked Folder’ to a Better Access Point

With the majority of its Utilities features now located when tapping the plus button in the app bar, Google Photos enables users to import images, make new albums, highlight videos, and create cinematic photographs.

The Google Photos mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones has undergone a minor update. The location of the Locked Folder has been moved to make it easier for users to access the safe folder, which was previously hidden within the other tabs and sub-sections. These are minor but noticeable adjustments that have been made to the tabs and tiles. Here is everything we know about the Google Photos update

Google Photos’ latest update makes the Locked Folder simpler to access for users. First discovered by 9to5Google, users can now more easily access the Locked Folder on iOS and Android thanks to increased visibility. In the Library tab, “Locked” now shows up right next to Favourites, Archive, and Trash for much faster access, according to the report. The Utilities folder is no longer visible; this folder is visible instead.

Prior to the modifications, users had to access the Locked Folder by launching Google Photos, tapping the Library tab, going for Utilities from the upper-right corner of the grid, and navigating to the header labelled “Organise Your Library.”

One benefit of the previous method was that it kept hidden the Locked Folder’s visibility more. However, the private folder is located directly in the navigation drawer when using Google Photos on the web.

In addition to shifting the location of the Locked Folder, Google Photos has rearranged a number of additional settings. The majority of sections and features that were previously housed within the Utilities folder are now accessible to users by using the + button located on the top bar. The images can now be shared and imported, to make new albums, collages, highlight videos, cinematic photos, photo books, prints and animations from within this section.
