Google rolls out Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking to handle complex queries

The company has also released an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Pro, the greatest model yet for coding performance and complicated prompts, in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, as well as in the Gemini app for Gemini Advanced users.

Google has introduced Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking, a next-generation AI reasoning model designed to improve user responses by breaking down challenging enquiries into easily understood parts. The model, which comes after OpenAI’s o3 and o3-mini models, is presently the world’s best-performing AI model. Its outstanding feature is the 2-million-token context window.

Google is launching 2.0 Flash Thinking, which can interact with popular apps like YouTube, Search, and Google Maps, transforming the Gemini app into a powerful AI-powered assistant. The new reasoning skills are being looked into to improve the user experience.

Gemini app users can now try 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental for free. The revised version, 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental, is now available to all Gemini app users, including desktop and mobile. This model, which is based on the speed and performance of 2.0 Flash, divides prompts into phases to improve its reasoning abilities. It provides a complete thought process, allowing users to comprehend its rationale, assumptions, and reasoning line.

Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking, which debuted in December 2024, is now available on both web and mobile platforms. This model is similar to competitors such as OpenAI’s reasoning series and DeepSeek’s R1, divides tasks into logical phases for greater accuracy and consistency, however, it takes significantly longer to process.

Gemini Advanced customers now have access to an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Pro, which is designed for hard tasks, improved factuality, and faster performance for coding and math prompts, giving them priority access to our most capable models.

According to Google, the most cost-effective model, Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite, is currently under public preview in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. The 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental will be accessible to Gemini app users via the model dropdown on PC and mobile. More modalities are expected to be ready for broad use in the months to come.
