The Gemini update for Google TV adds new AI features that are meant to greatly improve the user experience. The tech giant announced three new features for users: richer visual help, deep dives, and sports briefs. This update’s goal is to reduce the requirement for second-screen interactions by providing relevant information directly via the television interface. The Gemini update is now being rolled out to users in the US and Canada.
The company, via blog post, said, “We’ve all been there — scrolling through movies instead of watching them or grabbing our phones to look up game rules. Today, we’re making Gemini for Google TV even more capable, so your screen does the heavy lifting for you. These updates deliver richer visual answers, helpful deep dives, and timely sports updates, so you can explore the topics you love without all the searching.”
Availability
- Richer visual help will be available for Gemini-enabled devices in Canada and the US.
- Deep dives and sports briefs will be exclusive to users in the US.
- Google is planning broader device support for later in the year.
- The Gemini assistant will expand to more countries, beginning with Australia, New Zealand, and the UK in the coming months.
