Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have recently been updated with a brand new feature called Circle to Search that was introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series for the first time. The users can search for anything with a simple gesture — like circling, highlighting, scribbling or tapping without switching apps.
The Google-powered Circle to Search function will not only boost search results for Galaxy S24 phones but for Google Pixel 8 Series as well. The users will be able to do Google Lens-like searches on their devices using the Circle to Search feature, without having to switch to a different application.
Google’s AI-powered feature will allow Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro users to shop for goods they see and learn more about them. If you happen upon an interestingly patterned top or anything that you liked, just long-press the home button or navigation bar, and circle or scribble the items you’re interested in. You will then be able to browse the same or comparable products from retailers across the web.

Moreover, one can also search definitions of words or phrases using Circle to Search while watching a video. Now, just long-press the home button or the navigation bar to activate Circle to Search and highlight the word that you would like to find out more about. When you’re done, just swipe away and resume the video.
The new feature will also enable users to look for a building or a particular cafe that they have seen on their social media feed by just scribbling over the building to swiftly identify it (and even add it to their travel itinerary) with Circle to Search.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro users can also do a quick comparison. Suppose you want to know which cafe or a restaurant has a better location or menu then long press the home button or navigation bar and highlight one of the restaurant’s names. Without leaving your messaging app, you’ll see the restaurant’s menu, photos of popular dishes, customer reviews and its location.
