GoPro has now launched its HERO9 Black in India at a price point of Rs 49,500. The HERO9 Black will be available in India with an MSRP of Rs 49,500 at retail partners – Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, Reliance, Croma and select imaging stores. The HERO9 Black features a new 23.6-megapixel sensor that delivers 5K video and 20-megapixel photos, next-generation HyperSmooth 3.0 video stabilization with in-camera horizon leveling, a new front-facing display, a larger rear display, and 30 percent more battery life.
Furthermore, GoPro also shared that it has stopped using plastic for packaging of the HERO9 Black and added value by packaging the camera in a high-quality travel case that fits additional mounts and accessories. HERO9 Black joins GoPro MAX, HERO8 Black and HERO7 Black to round out the full 2020 GoPro Lineup.
Asserting that the HERO9 Black reflects the company’s commitment to deliver value-for-money product, Nicholas Woodman, GoPro founder and CEO, said, “Reducing as much plastic as possible from our business is a priority for us,” Woodman says. “We’re excited to package HERO9 Black in a high-value travel case instead of traditional wasteful packaging, and we’re committed to doing the same with the rest of our cameras by the end of 2021.”
From being hyped about HyperSmooth 3.0 to high-fives for 5K capture, HERO9 Black Features new 1.4-inch front color display with live preview and status modes along with larger 2.27-inch rear touch display with touch zoom.
On the battery front, GoPro HERO9 Black comes with 30 percent more battery life as compared to HERO8 Black with improved cold weather performance. Mind you! This is a removable as well as rechargeable battery.
Interestingly, the HERO9 Black offers voice control with 14 commands in 11 languages and 6 accents. It also provides HyperSmooth 3.0 with in-camera horizon leveling, TimeWarp 3.0 featuring Real Speed and Half Speed, 1080p Live Streaming and 1080p Webcam mode. This camera also carries three microphones with advanced wind-noise reduction along with stereo + RAW audio. Mind you! The larger speaker offers improved audio playback.
For the third consecutive year, GoPro is challenging its users to create the launch highlight reel for its new flagship camera. Open exclusively to owners of HERO9 Black, the Million Dollar Challenge will award an equal share of USD$1,000,000 to entrants whose video clips are chosen for the HERO9 Black Million Dollar Challenge video that will be released in December 2020.
