Harman has announced that its Ready Display product has received the industry’s first HDR10+ Automotive certification, therefore setting a new benchmark for visual quality in automobiles. With this breakthrough, Harman hopes to upgrade the in-vehicle experience by converting transportation into a cinematic journey and allowing passengers to interact with information dynamically while on the go.
Harman, a Samsung Electronics subsidiary, has made news by becoming the world’s first firm to acquire HDR10+ Automotive certification for its Ready Display product. The company said that this accreditation will set a new standard in the automotive industry for in-vehicle visual experiences. The certification, created through a cooperation between HDR10+ Technologies LLC, Samsung, and Panasonic, defines the criteria for enjoying High Dynamic Range (HDR) video in automobiles.
Harman in-vehicle display technology underwent extensive testing to earn certification, confirming its ability to deliver cinematic-quality visuals with consistent brightness, contrast, and colour accuracy across a variety of lighting situations and viewing angles. The certification also verifies its HDR10+ “Adaptive” capabilities, which automatically adjust brightness and colour according to ambient light, offering a consistent viewing experience regardless of whether the car is driven in bright daylight or in city lights.
With the achievement of this milestone, Harman has established itself as the pioneer in the automotive sector by introducing the first HDR10+ Automotive-certified display. This innovative technology enables drivers and passengers to experience remarkably lifelike visuals characterised by cinematic depth, exceptional detail, and a high level of consistency, regardless of varying lighting conditions encountered during their journeys.
