Google plans to release the Pixel 9 Pro Fold alongside the Pixel 9 smartphones on August 13, with the foldable also expected to be available in India. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s specifications and dimensions have leaked, and it is expected to be priced similarly to its predecessor. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is Google’s first foldable smartphone to be launched in India. The foldable is believed to include a bigger display and camera-focused AI functions.

There are rumours that Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold will come in two different capacities—256GB and 512GB—and will cost $1,799 and $1,919, respectively. The original Pixel Fold, which was released last year, is being offered for the same price. Notwithstanding the exorbitant cost of US versions, the foldable will also make its debut in India, becoming the first Google foldable to do so.

Obsidian and porcelain are the anticipated colours available with the foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold. For the display, it will have two screens: a 6.3-inch Actua cover display and an 8-inch Super Actua main display. The screens will be larger on both sides. It is anticipated that the smartphone will have AI capabilities such as Circle to Search, Magic Editor, and Best Take. By adding someone to a group photo, users can make the image look more coherent by using the ‘Add Me’ function. Comparing the new model to the Pixel Fold, the latter may feature a smaller screen on one side.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold, along with its hinge mechanism and exterior display, are shown in a teaser film in an off-white tint akin to Google’s signature porcelain hue. The foldable appears to have a prominent rounded-corner rectangular bump for the camera, and the two levels of the lens configuration are stacked vertically. The new Fold has four cameras on its back, one of which looks to be a periscope lens.

It is expected that Google’s Tensor G4 processor would power the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. A 4,558mAh battery that supports at least 25W of cable rapid charging is most likely found in the 9 Pro. On the other hand, the Fold will have a 4,560mAh battery with 20.25W charging capabilities, according to the NCC listing.

Announcements regarding the new 9 Pro Fold and the 9 Pro will be made at the Made By Google event on August 13. Additionally, Google will launch the Pixel 9,  Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 XL, and Pixel 9 XL Pro, which are the normal variants. This is the first time that the ‘XL’ label has been extended to a phone since the Pixel 4XL. This year, major camera upgrades are anticipated for these models.
