Instagram for TV announced, now users can watch reels on the big screen

The Instagram for TV app curates short-form video content from favourite creators, offering a wide range of popular topics, from music releases to sports highlights, with Reels organised into channels based on individual preferences.

Instagram for TV has been introduced, and it is currently only accessible in the United States on select Amazon Fire TV devices. The application can be downloaded from the Amazon App Store to watch reels organised into personalised channels. The app supports multiple accounts, allowing a customised experience for all household members. This debut marks the first time Instagram content has been particularly tailored for television, allowing users to enjoy social media on a larger screen.

Amazon and Meta have announced a new partnership, introducing an Instagram for TV app that will let users watch and share Reels on larger displays. This app is now available on some Fire TV devices and may be downloaded from Amazon’s Appstore. It supports multiple accounts and allows users to interact with short-form content suited to their tastes by watching, sharing, and liking videos. Users may also search for other app users and content creators.

While announcing the new feature, Aidan Marcuss, vice president of Fire TV, said, “Our mission is to get you to the world’s best content fast, and we’re thrilled to welcome Instagram to Fire TV. We’re committed to keep pushing the boundaries of entertainment on customers’ biggest screens—the Instagram team has built an awesome experience, and we’re excited to be the first place to offer it. We can’t wait to see what customers think.”
