Instagram introduces Testimonials; A new way for creators to earn more

The brand pays to show the ad to more people, giving the creative a greater audience.

Instagram has added Testimonials, a new option for creators to make money through partnership ads. These ads, which can be in the form of videos or written text, promote products or services in partnership with creators, allowing them to support brands and broaden their audience.

A partnership ad is a content promotion approach in which a brand teams up with a creator to promote a product or service. These ads include the creator’s handle and creativity and can be original or organic content. The brand pays to show the ad to more people, giving the creative a greater audience. In the future, creators will have access to testimonials, which are brief, text-only written endorsements on ads, enabling even more options to earn money through brand partnerships.

Partnership ads enable increased charges when brands invest in your content, such as original videos and text-only testimonials. Experiment with different formats to find the best fit for you and the brand.

Testimonials are text-based endorsements that may be quickly and easily added to existing brand deals. They entail creating a short message (under 125 characters) about a brand campaign or product and delivering it to the brand to ensure it appears on the appropriate ad. Instagram now allows creators to appear as comments on posts with the Sponsored tag, allowing them to self-identify as paid promoters.

“Once you’ve finalised negotiations and signed the contracts, it’s time to create your partnership ad,” Meta said in the blog post.

According to Meta, brands can monetise their existing content by converting any post into a potential revenue source. This can be accomplished using product tags, people tags, or @mention. Brands can pay for content creation, such as collab posts or anything labelled as a paid collaboration. To convert a post into a partnership ad, you have two options: for long-term partnerships, you can grant account-level permissions, allowing the brand to create ads with your content or from any posts where the brand is tagged, or for one-time partnerships, you can generate an ad code to grant content-level permissions.
