Instagram is kicking off its Valentine’s Day celebrations, bringing special hidden features

To enhance the romantic vibe of Instagram Meta owned social media platform Instagram has rolled out several features on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Insta users will be able to access these new features for the next two days beginning on February 14. Note that the company has added these special features to Notes as well as Stories. Posting or tapping an @mention in Stories will trigger floating hearts in your Stories.

Instagram said in the press release that over the next two days, Instagram users will be able to use a number of unique features on the platform to celebrate Valentine’s Day. These functions are going to be accessible as of right now across Stories and Notes till February 15th.

Posting or tapping Notes with Valentine’s Day-related keywords or emojis will trigger an “exploding heart/emoji” animation in your DM inbox.

Instagram users now have the ability to post or tap Notes containing Valentine’s Day-related keywords or emojis to cause an “exploding heart/emoji”. The animation is said to appear in their Direct Message (DM) inbox.

According to the company users now see floating hearts fill their visual narrative when they publish or tap a @mention in their Stories. There will also be hearts added to the @mention sticker in your Stories sticker tray.

Besides this Instagram has been working on artificial intelligence (AI) after its parent company introduced Meta AI. According to a leak photo sharing app is developing AI message-writing capability. This feature is said to be accessible to rewrite, paraphrase, and edit a message. Mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi leaked details of the development on X aka Twitter. He also shared a screenshot of a chat box with selected text that can be seen when the Write With AI option is activated. According to him “It will probably paraphrase your message in different styles, similar to how #Google’s Magic Compose works.”
