iPhone 17 Series, iPhone Air Sale Kicked Off in India Today: Pricing and Availability

The new phones were launched in India on September 9.

Apple iPhone 17 Series, iPhone Air have gone on sale for the first time in India today. The new models were launched at the “Awe Dropping” event last week. The devices run on iOS 26 and are powered by Apple’s latest Bionic chipset. Here is everything about the iPhone 17 Sale.

Apple opened pre-orders for the new iPhones on September 12, and now they have officially gone on sale in the Indian market today at 8 AM. The latest generation of iPhones will be available for purchase at the older and the newly opened Apple Stores in the country, located in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune. Besides this, the handsets can also be purchased via the Apple India website, the Apple Store app, e-commerce platforms, and offline retailers in India.

The company is giving an instant discount of up to Rs 5,000 on purchases made using American Express, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank cards, as well as no-cost EMI options for individuals who do not want to pay in full.

The iPhone Pro comes in three variants: 256GB, 512GB and 1TB priced at Rs 1,34,900, Rs 1,54,900 and Rs 1,74,900, respectively.

On the other hand, iPhone 17 Pro Max has been introduced in four storage options with prices starting at Rs 1,49,900 for the 256GB storage. The 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options will be available at Rs 1,69,900, Rs 1,89,900 and Rs 2,29,900, respectively.

The devices will be available in silver, cosmic orange and deep blue colours.

iPhone 17 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display. Whereas Pro Max features a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display. The panel supports ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On, along with 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness. Apple has introduced a new vapour chamber function, which is not available on Android. The iPhone 17 Pro is also durable, with Ceramic Shield glass on both the front and back. 

Under the hood, there is the new A19 Pro chipset, a six-core CPU and GPU architecture, each with neural accelerators offering a six-core CPU and GPU architecture, each with neural accelerators.

Both Pro models come pre-installed with iOS 26. Also, these devices will be compatible with all of the Apple Intelligence Suite’s artificial intelligence (AI) features. They will operate on iOS 26 with new Apple Intelligence features such as Live Translation in the Messages, FaceTime, and Phone app and more.

The iPhone 17 Pro models feature a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary, ultrawide, and telephoto lens, the first time all three cameras have the same resolution. The telephoto camera is 56% larger and offers 8x optical zoom and 40x digital zoom. The phones also include an 18-megapixel selfie camera with Centre Stage mode.

The Pro models can be charged 50 per cent in 20 minutes with an optional high-wattage USB-C power adapter like Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max.

In India, Apple has introduced the phone in two variants with a price starting at Rs 82,900 for the 256GB storage option. The 512GB storage option will be available at Rs 1,02,900. It will come in lavender, mist blue, black, white, or sage colour options.

The iPhone 17 is highlighted with a bigger 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display that supports ProMotion up to 120Hz, similar to the iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone model supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, 3,000 nits peak brightness with a special coating to reduce glare outdoors and an always-on display feature. An upgraded Ceramic Shield 2 protection has been provided on both the front and back, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance adds robustness.

The mobile phone is driven by a new A19 chip featuring six cores for application processing and a five-core GPU for gaming, which allows for speedier on-device AI processing. The handset operates on iOS 26 out of the box with support for the same Apple Intelligence features.

For photos and videos, the new iPhone features a dual rear camera system led by a 48-megapixel Fusion main camera ( f/1.6 aperture and OIS) with 2X telephoto support and a 52mm focal length. There is a 48-megapixel Fusion Ultra-Wide secondary camera (f/2.2 aperture and macro feature). Upfront, there is an 18-megapixel square-shaped selfie camera with Center Stage feature.

When it comes to endurance, the Apple iPhone is said to deliver up to 8 hours of improved battery life over its predecessor. It is also said to provide endurance up to 8 hours with just 10 minutes of quick charging.

The price of the iPhone Air in India will start at Rs 1,19,900 for the 256GB storage. The price of the 512GB and 1TB storage models will set you back at Rs 1,39,900 and Rs 1,59,900, respectively.

The new Air model will be available in black, white, beige and light blue colour options.

Starting off with the design, Apple’s iPhone Air is the company’s slimmest and lightweight model yet, which is all set to rival Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. The new iPhone measures only 5.6mm in thickness. It has Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and back, which makes it up to four times more resistant to cracks, and is constructed of 80% recycled Titanium components, according to Apple. The thin design features an Action button for easy access to functions and Camera Control for quick camera launch or visual intelligence.

It has a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with 120Hz ProMotion and up to 3,000nits peak brightness. The iPhone Air features Apple’s A19 Pro processor, the fastest chip in a smartphone. The N1 chip supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread protocols, and the C1X modem provides greater speed and connectivity.

It boasts a single 48-megapixel rear camera, 2x telephoto shots at 12-megapixel resolution, and the same Centre Stage function as the conventional iPhone 17 model. The back camera enables the popular 28mm and 35mm focal lengths, so users have more options to frame their shot, and the large 2.0µm quad-pixel sensor with sensor-shift OlS excels in low light. For selfies, it includes an 18-megapixel Centre Stage front-facing camera. The Air is said to deliver an all-day battery life.
