Vivo’s sub-brand, iQoo, is all set to launch a new smartphone in the Indian market. The company will be introducing the iQOO Z9x 5G in the country, for which it has now confirmed the launch date. In addition to the launch date, the company has also revealed information about its availability, design, and colourway. Recently, the phone appeared on the company’s accessories support page.

The latest 5G smartphone from iQOO, the Z9x 5G, will launch in India on May 16th, the company has revealed. iQoo India CEO Nipun Marya took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal the design and colour options of the upcoming phone. The official teaser shows off the rear panel of the iQOO Z9x 5G, featured in a light green colour variant. The device has a feather-like pattern. The top left corner displays a square-shaped protruding camera module housing dual camera sensors. In addition to the camera sensors, it also houses an LED flash. A power button and volume rocker buttons are visible on the right side of the frame.

Note that the iQoo Z9x 5G already debuted in China later in April, along with the iQoo Z9 and Z9 Turbo. The design of the Indian variant is comparable to the Chinese model. The model launched in China features a 6.72-inch LCD display with 1,080×2,408 pixels of resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.2 storage. For photos and videos, it sports a dual rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel AI anti-shake primary lens and a 2-megapixel depth camera. It also consists of an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It packs a 6,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. Additionally, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication.

In China, the price of the iQOO Z9x 5G starts at CNY 1,299, which translates to Rs 15,000 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option.
