Google has announced the date for its forthcoming Pixel launch event, aka Made by Google event, which will take place in August. The company has also created a dedicated microsite on the Google Store that verifies the Pixel 9 Series name and design hint. We are much aware of what to anticipate from the company because of leaks and rumours. However, the dedicated microsite shows a 12-second video that previews the Pixel 9 Pro design.
The August 13 keynote is the official launch date for Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 series of smartphones, which will be released sooner than the traditional October release date for Pixel products. The event on the Google Store (US) is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (PT). Both Google’s Store page and YouTube channel will be live-streaming the Pixel hardware event.
It is anticipated that the event will take place earlier than it did- possibly in line with Apple’s September event. Before Apple releases new iPhone models and a stable version of iOS 18 with Apple Intelligence, Google might be trying to gain some traction with its new Pixels and Gemini AI features. The stable release of Android 15, new Gemini AI improvements, and new Pixel devices could all be unveiled at the event.

Although Google hasn’t revealed many specifics about its upcoming devices, a teaser video shows the Pixel 9 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro XL in silhouette. Both devices include a capsule-shaped rear camera unit with three sensors. According to the video, these gadgets might be the Pixel 9 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro XL, which vary from the usual visor-shaped camera module that has been in use since the Pixel 6 series release.
Similar to the Pixel 8 line of smartphones, Google has teased a new phone for India, suggesting that the same phones will be sold here. According to the teaser, the phone will be on sale in India on August 14.
The Pixel 9 Pro is expected to feature a 6.1-inch AMOLED screen with Adaptive Touch, a Tensor G4 SoC processor with up to 16GB RAM, Android 15 and on-device AI capability, and a telephoto shooter.
