Nano Banana is now integrated into Google Search, AI images can be created via Lens and AI mode

Nano Banana is an AI-powered image editing tool which was introduced in August this year.

Nano Banana is now available in Search, allowing users to quickly edit images using Lens & AI Mode, Google’s latest image editing model for Android and iOS. Users may make and modify photographs from prompts or upload their own images. The technology is now available in the United States and India, with plans for worldwide expansion. It is part of Google’s continuing endeavour to improve the user experience with AI-powered features.

The company has released Nano Banana, its latest image editing model based on Gemini 2.5 Flash, which has been utilised in over 5 billion photos in the Gemini app. The model is currently being integrated into Google Search and NotebookLM, and will soon be added to Photos, letting more people benefit from enhanced capabilities in their visual exploration and learning tools.

Google Lens will enable users to immediately edit photographs using AI. To utilise this function, open Lens in the Google app on Android or iOS, then select the ‘Create’ option, which is indicated by a yellow banana icon. Users can use given prompts, snap photos, and describe their changes. Follow-up questions allow for more modification, and the finished images can be shared with friends and family.

To overcome camera shyness, try using your rear-facing camera to photograph what you see or use an existing image from your collection. This is perfect for envisioning Halloween outfits for your dog without having to go to a fitting room. AI Mode enables you to generate new images from scratch using the “Create image” tool and a text prompt. AI Mode may also be utilised to discuss your new item ideas, such as a coat or dresser, and provide style or purchase suggestions.
