Nokia 2.2 with dedicated Google Assistant button launched in India: Here are 10 useful commands you can try on it

HMD Global has today unveiled its new Nokia 2.2 smartphone in India that comes with AI-powered low light imaging and a dedicated button for Google Assistant. Much like all other Nokia smartphones by HMD Global, the smartphone is a part of Google‘s Android One programme, which means that it will get timely Android updates and security patches for two and three years respectively. Here’s a look at the price details and specifications of the Nokia 2.2 smartphone:

Nokia 2.2 specifications

Nokia 2.2 is an entry-level smartphone from HMD Global and its features a 5.71-inch HD+ edge-to-edge display that comes with 400-nits brightness. Powered by quad-core MediaTek A22 CPU chipset, the smartphone comes with up to 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The base variant of the handset comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. It can also hold a microSD card of up to 400GB.

For imaging duties, the Nokia 2.2 smartphone comes with a 13MP primary sensor that comes with an LED flash. Along with this, the smartphone also has a 5Mp front-facing snapper for selfies and video calls. The camera app of the smartphone comes with HDR, panorama, low light enhancement, time lapse, Beautify and it also supports Google Lens. The company has also touted the fact that the cameras of the Nokia 2.2 handset come with AI-powered low light imaging. The selfie camera also supports the Face Unlock feature.

Nokia 2.2 smartphone houses a 3,000mAh battery that has support for 5W charging. The device runs Android 9.0 Pie and as we mentioned earlier, it is a part of Google Android One programme. Nokia 2.2 is also Android Q ready and will be getting timely software updates for two years.

The handset also comes with a dedicated button for Google Assistant, which makes it a lot easier to access the digital assistant. Here’s a look at some commands that you can try with Google Assistant on Nokia 2.2:

  1. Call me ‘(Insert nickname)’.
  2. Wake me up at 9 a.m.
  3. OK Google, open (Insert app name).
  4. Call (the contact’ name).
  5. Send a text message to (the contact’s name).
  6. How do I get to (name of destination)?
  7. How do you say ‘(word)’ in (name of language)?
  8. Did I miss any emails from yesterday?
  9. Ok Google, tweet ____.
  10. OK Google, turn on the flashlight.

Nokia 2.2 Price in India, availability

The Nokia 2.2 is available in Tungsten Black and Steel and with a limited period offer, the 2GB RAM/16GB storage version can be bought at Rs 6,999, whereas the 32GB storage model can be picked up at Rs 7,999. The offer can be availed till June 30th, 2019.

After the limited time offer price ends, Nokia 2.2 will be available at Rs 7,699 for the 2GB RAM /16GB storage variant and Rs 8,699 for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant.

The smartphone will be available pan-India across top mobile retail outlets and online on Flipkart and Nokia.com/phones starting 11th June 2019.
