Nokia 4.2 India launch scheduled for today: Expected price and specifications

Nokia 4.2 is all set to launch in India today.

HMD Global is all set to launch its Nokia 4.2 smartphone in India today. The company has been teasing to launch the smartphone for a few days now, and last week, it took to Twitter to say that the device will be launched on May 7. Nokia 4.2 smartphone was initially launched at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.

The key features of the handset include a dedicated button for Google Assistant and an LED notification light on the power button. A teaser shared by the company also showed the back of a smartphone, which looked exactly like Nokia 4.2, and this further cements the fact that the handset will finally make its way to India today.

Another teaser by HMD Global shows a pink coloured variant of Nokia 4.2 that was earlier shown at the MWC 2019, which means that we can expect to see this colour variant in India too. Like all other Nokia smartphones from HMD Global, the device is a part of Google’s Android One program. It features a fingerprint scanner and sports a vertically aligned dual rear camera setup. Nokia 4.2 price in India (expected)

Globally, Nokia 4.2 is priced at $169 (approximately Rs 11,700) for its base variant that comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, while its 3GB RAM/32GB storage version costs $199 (approximately Rs 13,800). In India too, the pricing of the smartphone is expected to be similar. In this price range, it will compete with the likes of Nokia 4.2 will compete with smartphones like Redmi Note 7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy M30 (review) and Realme 3 Pro.

Nokia 4.2 specifications

Since Nokia 4.2 has been launched already, we know about the specifications of the smartphone. The handset comes with a 2.5D glass on the front as well as on the back. It is made of a polycarbonate body and has a metallic internal structure. Nokia 4.2 has a 5.71-inch HD+ (720 x 1520 pixel) display that has an aspect ratio of 19:9.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 439 SoC processor, the device from Nokia comes with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Users can also add a microSD card of up to 400GB for more storage. For imaging duties, Nokia 4.2 sports a dual rear camera setup that comprises of a 13MP camera with f/2.2 autofocus lens and a 2MP fixed-focus lens.
