Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 update announced with customisation and AI-powered features

Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 update has been announced for Phone (2a), which will be available for other devices later this year. The upgrade, based on Android 15, will include additional customisation options, AI-driven features, and enhanced camera capabilities. Users may test the upgrade before it goes live in December.

According to a community post the Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 is now being rolled out for Phone (2a). The software is set to be released in December for other devices. Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 is currently available for download for the Phone 2a, with beta updates for other devices scheduled for November 2024, December 2024, December 2024, and December 2024 for Phone 2, Phone 1, Phone 2a Plus, and CMF Phone 1, respectively.

The Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 introduces a new lock screen personalisation page, which can be accessed by long-pressing the lock screen. The update includes improved clock faces and more widget space, allowing you to add more widgets to your lock screen.

The new Nothing update now includes a Smart drawer that employs artificial intelligence (AI) to improve organisation and accessibility. This method automatically organises apps into categories based on their use. Users may pin their most frequently used apps to the top of the app drawer for easy access.

The Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 update features camera enhancements such as quicker camera widget startup, decreased HDR processing time, increased camera performance in low-light conditions, and an improved zoom slider display. It also has improved portrait effects, such as fine-tuning blur strength based on face size.

It enables moveable pop-up views for cleaner and more effective multitasking, as well as simple scaling of pop-up views by sliding their bottom corners. You may now pin the pop-up view to the screen border for easy access. Additionally, with the upgrade, you may browse information without leaving your current app. Simply swipe down on receiving alerts to open the pop-up view. Enable it under Settings > System > Pop-up view.

Other updates include support for the auto-archive option, which automatically frees up storage space without deleting applications or data from your smartphone. Partial screen sharing enables more efficient and secure screen recording. Record just one program window rather than the full screen. The setup process has been updated to version 3.0 to provide the easiest introduction to Nothing OS. Predictive back animations have been enabled for opted-in applications, as well as a new fingerprint animation with a characteristic dot matrix design.
